💘Saint Dwynwen [ˈdʊɨnwɛn] the Welsh patron saint of lovers and sick animals is celebrated on the 25th of January
💘 According to a Welsh folktale Dwynwen, a Celtic princess in the 5th century became seriously distraught after her love for Maelon failed.
💘 Consequently Maelon had been turned into a large ice cube by an angel 🪽
💘On Dwynwen's request God granted her three wishes:
1️⃣ that Maelon is released from his ice prison 🧊 2️⃣through her, God will look after all true lovers 💕 3️⃣ that she remains unmarried 💔
💘 Dwynwen' s next step was to withdrew to a small tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn, off the southwest coast of Anglesey, Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
💘There she built a church called Llanddwyn "Church of Dwynwen" - nowadays a romantic ruin

💘 Nowadays, you too can visit the island of Llanddwyn with some amazing views and welcome by friendly locals 🐎🐴

⛰️ Scafell Pike in the Lake District is the highest mountain in England standing at 978 metres/3209. It is part of a mountain range formed by a volcano 400 million years ago and scared by glacier erosions. 🌋
⛰️"Scafell" is possibly originated from Old Norse - a fell with a bald sumit- whilst "pike" in Old English - a mountain with a sharp peak 🗻
⛰️ The hike up to Scaffel Pike is tedious on rugged and stoney tracks, yet it is well worth it - it offers some amazing views of Westwater, the deepest lake in England with 258 ft, and the chance of being greeted by native Cumbrian Hardwick sheep. 🐑
