Just booked - a tailor made family adventure to Canada this summer!

I have been helping a family who were looking for something a little out of the ordinary for their family holiday this year. We discussed various options - including Namibia, Tanzania and Australia - and decided that Canada would give them all they wanted.

They have a fabulous self-drive itinerary starting and ending in Vancouver staying in some iconic places along the way. First stop is Whistler where they have a zipline adventure, family rafting trip and a 'Spectacular Glacier Floatplane Tour' all booked in. Then it is onto Campbell River on Vancouver Island where they are going on a full day kayaking and whale spotting tour; then time to chill out in Tofino in a stunning beachfront room at the Long Beach Resort finishing with a couple of nights in Vancouver. Important travel update for non-UK passport holders travelling to the UK.

The new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system will be mandatory for European nationals from April 2, 2025. The system is already in operation for non-European nationals from some countries.

The UK ETA is a new process allowing travellers to apply for temporary permission to enter the UK without needing a full visa. It's quick and easy to apply for, either through a mobile app or online portal, eliminating the need for embassy visits or paper forms. You can find the full list of eligible countries and dates here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-when-you-can-get-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta.

As I mentioned, last week I was at the @cliaeuro Cruise Conference. Part of the week is visiting various ships at port in Southampton which really help discover what is unique about each ship. Friday's visit was on the Silver Dawn by Silversea Cruises. Silversea have smaller more exclusive ships and the Silver Dawn takes a maximum of only 596 guests.
