The WHO is reportedly close to declaring a major incident, as we are witnessing a critical spread of the number of people suffering from Outbidophobia, a fear of missing out on Seatfrog upgrades, throughout the country this month.

First reports started in 2019 with the launch of Seatfrog, but now that more people are realising how cheaply they could get First Class upgrades, we are seeing a huge outbreak of Outbidophobia that is threatening to overwhelm the whole of the UK.

If you or someone you love has shown symptoms including a twitching thumb, a frequent compulsion to check their Seatfrog auction status, and an inability to concentrate on anything other than their bid, then they may be suffering from Outbidophobia. Recommended treatments include putting in a high early bid for a chance for an Instant Win, and turning on your notifications to stop the need for compulsive phone-checking.

We contacted Seatfrog CEO, Iain Griffin, for comment. He said: ‘Look, I’d be lying if I said I was unhappy about our amazing app being the reason for so many people getting addicted to First Class train travel this month. To be honest, as we add more features and train partners, I can only see this fear affecting even more people - and I genuinely don’t agree, or care, if you all think that’s a bad thing.’
