Recently the Natural Resources Institute - University of Greenwich's Environmental Science students had an opportunity to explore London’s ‘green scene’ on the Insider London’s Sustainability tour as part of their Sustainable Futures module. Along a one-mile route from Tottenham Court Road to the Thames, students were shown a number of sustainable city features – energy sources and sustainable drainage systems at Central St Giles, the role and benefits of of the Phoenix Community Garden just of Shaftsbury Avenue, ethical sourcing examples in Monmouth street and Neal's Yard, fast fashion alternatives in Covent Garden, repurposing and adaptation of a building for the London Transport Museum, water and waste removal at Blackfriars Bridge and sustainability features at a hotel near the Victoria Embankment Gardens
