The Temple Church

The Church of the Knights Templar in London.

The Knights Templar built the Church, the order of crusading monks founded to protect pilgrims on their way to and from Jerusalem in the 12th Century. Unlike any other church in London, the design recalled the holiest place in the Crusaders' world: the circular Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

Today the 15th-century Inns of Court surround this 12th-century place of worship. The area has layers and layers of history, leafy courtyards and cosy historical pubs. The atmosphere makes this pedestrianised neighbourhood perfect for a private walking tour.

Filmmakers love the Inns of Court that circumnavigate the Temple church. Free from ugly 21st-century street furniture and signs. The Da Vinci Code, Sherlock Holmes, and various Charles Dickens TV dramas have been shot here.

How wonderful would it be to visit the home of Charles Dickens on Christmas Eve!

Soak up the atmosphere of a Victorian Christmas by visiting the former home of Charles Dickens. He is globally famous for his vivid characters of Victorian England and especially London. His success began with the publication of the Pickwick Papers. He pioneered serial publication and kept readers in total suspense, wanting more gritty tales and conclusions to the stories the following week. National favourites are Oliver Twist and Great Expectations, which have frequently been adapted into TV films.

A Christmas Carol is by far the most widely known story and Dickens is often credited to inspiring Christmas celebrations as we know it. Therefore, a visit to 48 Doughty Street, once the writer's family home, is a must whilst touring London on Christmas Eve.

I'm passionate about making Travel Accessible for people with less ability or people that use wheelchairs, walkers, scooter or need oxygen.

Many years ago I noticed that so many of our clients were either a little bit slow walking or just need a little extra care. Some needed occasional use of a wheelchair.

I have made it my mission to cater for all abilities. We electric (wheelchairs) scooters, standard wheelchairs and steel ramps. Plus we can hire accessible vehicles.

It is quite special moment when someone who thought they COULD NOT DO IT - DOES IT (with our help) and the joy on their faces is unforgettable. The moral of the story is: TRAVEL ADVISORS, when you get a client that thinks they cannot see or do something in the UK, pick up the phone and talk to us, we can meet those challenges head on.

We provide accessible tours for partial or full-time wheelchair users. Planning tours carefully to gain special access and use of adapted vehicle when required.

Andrew was born in 1965. After leaving school, he went to a catering college and qualified as a chef, and his first job was as a chef on the world's most famous cruise liner, the QE2. He worked on the cruise ship for five years and then set up a sandwich business delivering to office workers in the City of London until 1993.

Andrew's love of London and meeting people is immediately obvious. Driving a taxi would give him the best of both worlds. Andrew passed the knowledge of London, which comprises of learning 1000's of streets, buildings and historical sites of London. Twenty-seven years later, Andrew felt it was the right time to pass on his knowledge to people visiting the great city of London.
