A big thank you to all the coach drivers and bus drivers who kept London moving this week through out the tube strikes.

Despite the heavy traffic our drivers managed to get all the passengers to their destinations on time. Great work by all the drivers this week in keeping London moving.

Today is the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities which began in 2019 to promote disability inclusion. https://www.un.org/en/observances/day-of-persons-with-disabilities

Anderson Travel have a range of PSVAR (Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations) compliant vehicles in our fleet to accommodate passengers who need wheelchair access.

This means disabled passengers can get out and about the see attractions such as Stonehenge along with everyone else! Here is a short video demonstrating the wheelchair accessible coaches.

We think our drivers and coaches are great! But never mind what we think, here is some feedback from our customers.

“Must mention superb journey there and back on the 'seaside express' supporters club coach. Well organised comfortable and simple to book. As mentioned on here previously, I would encourage supporters to use this luxury coach when available….”

“Please support the running of these coaches. I travelled on the one to Folkestone and it was a very good experience. A nearly new 40 seater coach with toilet on board and USB sockets to keep your appliances fully charged. It’s also nice to get taken straight to the ground without having to drive all that way or rely on public transport which probably won’t take you to the door.”

“Folkestone was my first coach trip of the season and it was really good. Not only was it a brand new full size coach, it was some sort of premium layout whereby it had 40 seats as opposed to the usual 52/53. So plenty of space. Sadly too many empty places though so it would be good to get a few more fans on board going forward. Online booking and payment another thumbs up from this latest experience.”

Yesterday the travel industry heard the welcome news that from Monday 2nd August, fully vaccinated travellers from Europe and the US will be allowed to visit the UK without quarantine.

Our August tours have already been gaining interested so this is great to hear. As well as our scheduled tours, we can organise private bespoke tours for your group.

We are all really proud of Amy Exon, one of our transport manager’s daughters, who has been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2021 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships taking place in Geneva in the next few days.

Amy flew off with her team mates yesterday morning where she will compete in the age 12-19 women’s pairs category with her partner Charlotte.

We have sponsored Amy with additional kit and assistance and wish her good luck at the championships. She came down to Anderson Travel the other day to thank us and show us a few of the moves that we hope will make her a champion.

The travel industry is calling on the Govt to implement the system as intended so travel can resume properly this summer and offer a package of tailored financial support to help businesses.

We know there is pent up desire both at home and abroad with people eager to travel again. On our last few tours we have had visitors from the US who have paid for the quarantine and sacrificed a week of their time in a hotel, just so they can enjoy UK tourism. We are encouraged by their determination to enjoy a holiday again.
