🥇The Innovation Award recognises and celebrates creating something truly unique this year. This could be taking an existing business and turning it around by being innovative or starting something completely new.

🌎 The Immersive India Tour was newly created this year and reimagines city walking tours by bringing the vibrancy, heritage, and community spirit of Indian culture to the streets of London.

It’s not just a tour - it’s an immersive experience that connects people to Indian customs, stories, and food in a way that’s never been done before.

Designed during a challenging time in my life, this project has grown into something that bridges cultures, celebrates diversity and empowers choices.

Your vote would mean so much!

🗣️ How Tourism Can Be a Force for Good: My Guest Lecture Experience

This week, I had the privilege of delivering a guest lecture to Master’s students at the - a first for me!

As part of their Sustainable Tourism module, the students were studying Community-Based Tourism (CBT) and I was invited to share how my Immersive India Tour incorporates some CBT principles into its design, such as:

🌎 Authenticity: Guests connect with community members in their daily lives, fostering cross-cultural understanding through meaningful, real-world experiences.

🤝 Respectful: Tours respect local community requirements, such as timings, and ensure cultural sensitivity.

🚶‍♀️ Sustainable: The tour preserves the environment by encouraging public transport and walkable routes.

🪙 Community-focused: Local businesses retain the income they earn, ensuring tourism benefits flow directly to them.

It was inspiring to see the students creativity shine! Many asked how they could create their own tours or initiatives, showcasing their talents in music, dance, and food.

Such innovative thinking shows the endless possibilities of tourism as a force for good.

A big thank you to for inviting me and encouraging such dynamic conversations. I left feeling energised by their ideas and enthusiasm!

One of the best parts of leading the Immersive India tour is the incredible people I meet along the way. 🌍

This lovely couple from Kent joined us for their first taste of Indian culture right here in London!

They’ve been married for over 50 years! 💛 With a background in teaching and law, they’ve seen and traveled so much—and shared such fascinating stories from their adventures.

I’m beyond excited to visit them in Faversham soon for what promises to be an amazing tour of their town! ✨

Every time this beautiful family visits London, from overseas, they dive into something new!

This time they were wearing vibrant sarees and sipping fresh coconut water from street vendors.

Filling their bags with spices for home, and soaking in the views, colours, and stories with wide-eyed wonder in the temple!

Here’s to more unforgettable moments and deeper connections with every visit!

Shayna flew in all the way from The Netherlands, and her friend from NYC, and included the experience in their catch up.

It’s amazing how travel brings people together! 🗺️

So much fun sharing the sights, sounds, and flavors of my tour with these two incredible women.

It’s the last day of Navratri, thank you for following me through all 9 days.

Day 9 of Navratri, also known as Mahanavami, is dedicated to Siddhidatri, the ninth and final form of Goddess Durga.

“Siddhi” means fulfilment
“Datri” means the giver and bestower.

Siddhidatri fulfils the wishes and dreams that we have that seem completely impossible and beyond our reach. She is known for making the impossible possible.

She reminds us to balance the masculine and feminine energy’s within.

Siddhidatri is often depicted sitting on a lotus, with four arms, holding a lotus, a mace, a discus, and a conch shell.

She is also believed to have blessed even the gods like Shiva with the divine powers they needed to fulfill their duties.

Worshipping Siddhidatri on the ninth day is said to help devotees achieve success, harmony, and divine grace.

She also brings balance to our material and spiritual lives, helping us fulfill worldly responsibilities while staying connected to higher wisdom.

Today meditate on the third eye chakra between your eye brows.
1. Visualise a purple light glowing at this point, slowly expanding with each inhale.
2. As you breathe in, feel this purple light filling your mind with clarity and intuition.
3. With each exhale, release any confusion, doubt, or distractions.
4. Stay with this purple light, allowing it to open your mind to inner wisdom and deeper understanding.
5. When you’re ready, gently open your eyes and bring your awareness back to the present.

Day 8 of Navratri is dedicated to Mahagauri, the goddess of purity, peace, and compassion.

“Gau” means knowledge, liberation and attainment.
“Ri” means the bestower of wisdom.

Worshipping her on Day 8 is believed to bring inner transformation and knowledge we desire with the potential to reach our highest self.

Mahagauri rides a bull and is usually shown with four arms, holding a trident and a drum, with one hand granting blessings and the other in a gesture of fearlessness.

Mahagauri is associated with the higher heart chakra, which is above the crown chakra.

This chakra is the gateway to divine love, where ultimate compassion for all living things exist and where spiritual selflessness lives.

It’s where you harness all energies from your root chakra to your crown to become the star and embody the transformation.

Imagine the white light slightly above your head come down over your body and engulf you and shine like a star ⭐️

Day 6 of Navratri is dedicated to Katyayani, a fierce and powerful form of Goddess Durga.

She is known as the warrior goddess, born to vanquish the demon Mahishasura. Her name comes from the sage Katya, who performed intense penance to have her as his daughter.

Katyayani is often depicted riding a lion, with four arms, carrying a sword and a lotus in her left, symbolising strength and righteousness.

She represents the power of courage and the ability to fight evil forces, both external and internal.

Worshipping Katyayani is believed to bring courage, strength, and the power to overcome obstacles, particularly those related to personal growth and transformation.

Katyayani is associated with the Third Eye Chakra, which governs intuition, insight, and wisdom. Meditating on this chakra helps enhance inner vision and spiritual awareness.

Third Eye Chakra Meditation:

1. Sit comfortably in a quiet space with your spine straight and close your eyes.
2. Take a few deep breaths, inhaling through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth. Let yourself relax.
3. Focus your attention on the space between your eyebrows, where the Third Eye Chakra is located.
4. Visualise a deep indigo or purple light glowing in this area. Imagine this light expanding with each inhale, getting brighter and more intense.
5. As you breathe, repeat a simple affirmation in your mind, such as “I trust my intuition” or “I see clearly with inner wisdom.”
6. Let your thoughts come and go without attaching to them. Simply bring your focus back to the Third Eye and the expanding light.
7. Stay in this space for as long as you feel comfortable, allowing your awareness to deepen and your intuition to awaken.
8. When you’re ready, slowly bring your attention back to your breath and gently open your eyes.

This meditation helps you tap into your inner wisdom, allowing you to see beyond the surface and trust your intuitive insights.

Day 5 of Navratri honours Skandamata, the mother of Lord Skanda (Kartikeya), the god of war.

She’s the ultimate symbol of a nurturing and protective mother. Often depicted with baby Skanda in her lap, sitting on a lotus, she radiates both power and grace. With her four arms, she carries a lotus and a bell, riding a lion as her vehicle.

Worshipping Skandamata is believed to bring wisdom, prosperity, and protection. She embodies the strength that comes from a mother’s love and devotion, teaching us about courage and unconditional love.

Skandamata is linked to the Throat Chakra, which is all about communication, self-expression, and truth.

Meditating on this chakra helps you speak clearly and express your authentic self.

Throat Chakra Meditation:

2. Focus on the area at your throat, where the Throat Chakra is located.
3. Visualise a blue light glowing at your throat, expanding with each breath.

6. Let yourself feel confident and clear in your communication. When you’re ready, gently open your eyes.

Hope this helps you express yourself with more confidence and clarity! 💙

I couldn’t find a smiling picture of the goddess, so here’s one of me instead! 😊

Day 4 of Navratri is dedicated to Maa Kushmanda, the goddess whose radiant smile is said to have created the universe.

Her name comes from “Ku” (little), “Ushma” (warmth), and “Anda” (egg), symbolising the cosmic egg from which everything was born. She brings light to darkness, embodying the power of creation and positive energy.

You’ll often see her with eight arms, holding weapons, a rosary, and a pot of nectar, riding a lion or tiger.

Worshipping her on Day 4 is believed to bring health, vitality, and prosperity into your life.

Maa Kushmanda is connected to the heart chakra, which governs love, compassion, and emotional balance. Meditating on this chakra can help bring more joy and harmony into your life.

Heart Chakra Meditation:
1. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths.
2. Focus on the center of your chest, where the Heart Chakra is located.
3. Visualise a soft green light glowing at your heart, expanding with each breath.
4. As you inhale, imagine this light filling you with love and compassion.
5. As you exhale, let go of any tension or emotional blockages.
6. Stay with this feeling of warmth and connection for a few moments before gently opening your eyes.

Hope this brings some positive vibes into your day! 💚

Day 3 of Navratri is all about honouring Chandraghanta, the fierce yet serene warrior goddess.

Her name comes from the half-moon (Chandra) shaped like a bell (Ghanta) on her forehead. She’s the embodiment of strength and courage, facing adversity head-on, but with a calm and compassionate heart.

Chandraghanta rides a lion and wields ten weapons, always ready to protect her devotees. Even though she looks fierce, her energy brings peace and the inner strength to tackle challenges without fear.

Worshipping her on Day 3 is believed to help you tap into courage and face life’s obstacles with a steady mind.

She’s linked to the Solar Plexus Chakra, located just above the navel. This chakra is all about personal power, confidence, and transformation. Connecting with it while invoking her energy can help you overcome negativity and step into your power.

Short Meditation:
1. Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
2. Focus on the area just above your navel, the Solar Plexus Chakra.
3. Visualise a glowing yellow light expanding from that point.
4. As you breathe deeply, imagine the energy of Chandraghanta filling you with courage, confidence, and calm.
5. With each breath, feel the negativity dissolve and a sense of strength and peace take its place.

Take a few moments to enjoy this calm, then slowly bring your awareness back to the present.

On day 2 of Navratri, we honour Brahmacharini, the goddess of devotion, penance, and determination.

She represents strength through discipline and self-restraint, embodying the power of tapasya (meditation and perseverance).

Often depicted holding a water pot and a rosary, Brahmacharini reminds us of the importance of dedication in the pursuit of our goals, no matter how challenging the path.

Brahmacharini is associated with the Sacral Chakra, located just below the navel, which governs creativity, emotional balance, and flow in life.

She teaches us to channel emotional energy into spiritual discipline, purifying our desires and helping us align with our soul’s purpose.

🧘‍♀️ Meditation Tip:
1. Focus on a ball of orange light just below your navel.
2. Visualise it expanding with the intention of perseverance, inner peace, and higher aspirations.

Navratri is one of my absolute favourite Hindu festivals! 💃🏾

Why, you ask? I’ll share more on that later…

For now, here’s a little about it:
*Nav* means 9, and *Ratri* means night.

These are 9 sacred nights dedicated to the powerful Goddess Durga and her 9 forms.

Each day we honour a different form of the goddess through beautiful rituals, dances, and prayers – that’s why it’s so close to my heart! 💃✨

Today, on Day 1, we honour **Shailaputri**, the daughter of the mountains. She embodies strength and the beauty of nature.

As the goddess of the root chakra, located at the base of your spine, she teaches us to stay grounded and face life’s challenges with courage and grace.

To embody her energy today, try this MEDITATION:🧘‍♀️
1. Focus on a red ball or flame of light at the base of your spine.
2. Let it grow as you release anything that no longer serves you.
3. Set intentions for rooted, secure, and grounded energy to move forward. 🌱

Wishing you all a joyful and blessed start to this divine feminine festival!

Watching couples strengthen their connection through shared experiences is one of the best parts of leading the Immersive India Tour.

I had the joy of seeing this couple explore and embrace the magic of India and each other.

Moments like these remind us that travel isn’t just about the destination—it’s about the journey we take with the people we love. 🕌✨
