LIVORNO_ITALY

Architectural Project of an old italian 800 sqm villa, converted in 4 luxurious flats.
Conservation Architecture, Sustainable Design, Interior Design, Lighting Design, Bespoke Furniture, Project Management.

The organization of the 4 apartments operates between the architectural and the interior design scale. The idea of the project is about the co-existence and integration of an historical original design from the 1900 and a contemporary minimal design of the 2012. The system needs to follow the sustainable design criteria. The design for this apartment block is based on a concept of let the outside inside.
Indoor and outdoor spaces flow into one another through retractable doors, full height glass walls, and harmonized materials.
The interior has fluid spaces with a warm atmosphere thanks to the materials used: oak floorboards and timber veneer panels, polished concrete floor, stone.
Through the consistent, innovative use of renewable primary energies, building services are designed to be environmentally-friendly, sustainable and energy-saving using the latest technology.

PRIVATE HOUSE
Fulham, London
Architectural Design, Interior design, Rear + Side + Loft Extension
Alterations to a three storey mid-terraced residence.
The design philosophy has been to preserve the form and character of the existing house. The design of the rear and side extension is intended to be sympathetic and in scale to the original character of the property. Internal layout incorporates the principles of “buildings for life”, “designing for accessibility and “sustainability” for the use of the buildings. Sharing the elevation drawing of the proposal and a shot of the actual building at the rear.

GLAZED REAR EXTENSION
EARLS COURT, LONDON

A rear extension has helped to transform this garden flat in a bigger open plan space. The interior and the exterior are treated as a continuous space. The division between the flat and the garden is made indistinct by the anthracite grey double glazing bifold doors, which allow natural light to stream back deep inside the building. The skylights, installed above the bath and the living-room area, make the extension an even brighter and airy space that vitalises the home giving great views of the sky and looking dramatic to boot.

The project follows a method linking historical memory and contemporary sign.
The main facade was restored keeping original frames and moldings and enhanced thanks to the inclusion of modern fixtures with thermal system blinds and thanks to the new color contrast black / asphalt.
The edge of the parallelepiped in structural with bearing profiles only visible from the inside, pushes towards the garden giving a sense of extension of the house to the outside. The glass element is equipped with external shading completely invisible and integrated into the facade.
Two panels positioned above the bedroom include an integrated photovoltaic system.
Natural light plays a key role throughout the project.
The new volume for a garage features a green roof. The solution for the extensive planted area is simple and economical, a way to give back to nature something that is removed from the soil through the construction.
As for the interior, with underfloor heating, the design takes inspiration from the nautical world and plays with just two basic colors: white and black, with the exception of the grey of the micro-cement. The rest of the colors are from the vegetation and the nature that interact directly with the interior thanks to its fully glazed structure.
The architectural project was designed following innovative techniques to meet the characteristics of and environmental sustainability.

ARCI XV CONGRESSO NAZIONALE
SIENA, ITALY
Exhibit Design Project

The "slogan" of the ARCI conference is to give the time a positive meaning, with an optimistic behavior, blossom and activism. The project is intensionally made with poor materials, like the . The sheet assumes a symbolic meaning, because it is temporary, it can be modified and changed in different shapes during the time. The central element of this conference is an ephemeral architecture with sheets, which can be used also like with images, pictures, videos, to give a rhythm to the space.

POMODORETTO COFFEE SHOP & DELI
SOUTH WEST LONDON
/ Logo (in collaboration with Giulia Oblo)

The interior design has a quasi spirit. Fresh contemporary touches complete the look. The space is meant to be essentially open, like a loft.
The is reductive but convivial, relying on different types of chairs and wood tables, combined with a repetition of items like the lighting fixtures which give a feeling of warm continuity.
The bar, the counter and the cash desks have an obvious display function and an overall eco-sustainable concept.
The coffee shop is imagined as a domestic space where clients can watch the work and select their special type of tarts, cookies, different type of coffees, teas and fresh juices.
The cafe’ section evokes an urban atmosphere whose conviviality is generated by careful attention of soft and color schemes.
The concept is intended as a convivial and project with eco affordable materials and all lighting is assured with LEED certified appliances.

PATIO HOUSE PROPOSAL
AFFORDABLE - SUSTAINABLE - MODULAR - INDIVIDUAL - WATER SAVING
LUANDA, ANGOLA, AFRICA
Architectural Project, Sustainable Design

The house we are proposing reflects the fabric and density of , designed more like an agglomeration of different apartments then a clear block. From above, looking the roof plan is very difficult to perceive the perimeter of the house. The second reason of this choice is to consider a phased method that can easily be built in a self-construction by the same family or at least the local residents. For this reason the kitchen is like an independent block in and covered with a natural insulation and corrugated zinc sheets commonly used for roofing in the local buildings. The house is completely also because the materials used are local. Mopane wood for the poles, the roof structure, the fence and the flooring. The walls are in burnt bricks. Vegetable fibres fabric (Barkcloth made from Ficus Trees) for the curtains in the bedrooms and coloured plastic (common material in Angola) for the curtains at the kitchen’s entrance. is another nodal concept of the of this house, because of the cooling mechanism of the patio, and because of the shape of the metal roof designed with the right inclination to collect rain water in to 2 tanks ( one in the storage near the toilet and one underground tank outside), a simple system with a pump that permit to save water which has primary importance but is very difficult to have in Luanda. The home is 99 sq m including the patio, the access is from the private garden delimited by a fence in mopane wood, and is located on the side to allow the view of the entire house. The private patio will have planting (local trees and flowers) and shade to get to the bathroom from the main rooms, which help in case of rain and lower the temperature locally and act as a thermal decompression zone. The house is designed for a big family of 7 or 9 people and symbolically reflects the importance for African people that the socialization begins and ends inside it. The walls are coloured reflecting the typical African culture and architecture.

Featured MANTIS 100: PROMISING PROJECT for YACHT DESIGN Magazine n. 6-2007.

Throwing back to when Cristina Cipolli designed her first in collaboration with Perini Navi
The name chosen, Mantis, recalls the vision of a giant praying mantis attacking the boat and yet melting with it. ⛵️🦗
A sleek distinctive sporty , with cutting-edge technological equipment, adapted to long periods at sea, while offering high standards of comfort and , with accessories like the forward storage bay for the tender, a space that can be transformed into a luxurious hydromassage pool.
The starting point was to develop a minimalist exterior, that would not shut out the outside environment, characterized by a deckhouse with panels and photo-chromatic glass, and sinuous lines for the interiors reminding the organic forms of the marine world.
The below decks living areas were conceived as an open space done with modular elements. The furnishings, functional and multi-purpose, follow a colour scheme in sail white, coal black and orange, providing a vivid counterpoint.

TRANSFORMER SYSTEM - WEST LONDON
Interior Design, Project Management

Affordable and environmentally-friendly Space Saving Modular System (kitchen + bathroom + storage).
3 proposals for an apartment in South Kensington, owned by an who loves bright fluorescent colors.

The concept comes from the intention of maximizing small spaces.
As cities become more urbanized and more crowded, living spaces become smaller. Making the most out of a small apartment has become a real and constant challenge.
Located on the rooftop of a narrow Victorian building in West London, the transforming apartment is inspired by boat interiors and Japanese minimalism.
The unit measures 10 (maximum 12) square meters. The compact system offers a kitchen, a bathroom and storage spaces.
It is made up of individual elements that can be opened, closed, unfolded and moved to create a flexible living space.
The units are made of wood (birch or oak) or corian.
