Welcome to UCL Law for All, making a career in the law accessible for all UCL students. Until recently, and perhaps paradoxically for a leading institution with radical claims, UCL had no law society open to the entire student population. Out of UCL's 39,000 strong student population, less than 5% study within the UCL Faculty of Laws. UCL Law for All seeks to address the needs of the 95% through a

range of academic and social events, information about routes into the legal professions, work experience opportunities, and most importantly, our working relationships with law firms. We hope you will join us for the year ahead.

Want to learn how to safely challenge unacceptable behaviour and make campus a safer place? The
Active Bystander Programme equips students with the skills to recognise and challenge problematic behaviours, such as bullying, harassment, and sexual misconduct, helping to create a safer and more inclusive campus.

UCL expects students to complete this training as a core part of their student experience. After finishing the short online module, you’ll take part in a 90-minute live workshop (led by me - Rachel!), where you’ll explore real-life scenarios and learn how to intervene safely when needed.

By completing the training, you’ll:
✅ Learn how to intervene as an active bystander
✅ Gain practical skills to challenge unacceptable behaviour
✅ Connect with resources to support yourself and others
✅ Receive a certificate of completion

Over 50,000 UCL students have taken part in this impactful programme so don’t miss out!

To receive your certificate, you must complete the online module + feedback form and attend the live workshop + feedback form.

About Us

Welcome to UCL Law for All Society, the society that seeks to make a career in law accessible to all students. We are a fast-growing society, with over 150 members and 1000 students subscribed to our mailing list. For many years, UCL did not have a law society that was open to the entire student body; with the Faculty of Laws making up under 5% of the student population and a vast number of non-law students seeking to enter the legal sector, there was a need for change. In 2011 Law for All society was founded to address this need. We cater to students of all backgrounds, law and non-law, and seek to promote academic diversity and equal opportunity.

We host a wide range of events and offer unique opportunities to our members, such as networking events, speaker-led sessions, mooting workshops, negotiation skills presentations, pro-bono work, and a number of social events. We maintain regular contact with our members throughout the busy academic year via our weekly newsletter and commercial awareness updates. We seek to provide you, the aspiring lawyer, with all the information you need on the different career paths available within the legal sector. Our working relationships with major law firms, barristers’ chambers, and in-house legal teams allow us to provide you with useful insights on routes into law, work experience schemes, and graduate opportunities.

We hope you will join us for the exciting year ahead!
