Speaking at our recent “Pathway to Responsible Tourism" conference Peter O’Broin, Government Affairs Manager UK & Ireland for IATA, outlined aviation’s path to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. He noted that decarbonising aviation amidst a forecast of 4.5-5 billion passenger journeys in 2025—and 10 billion by 2050—requires a multifaceted approach, including sustainable aviation fuel, new technologies, and carbon capture initiatives.

At our recent "Pathway to Responsible Tourism" conference, we were delighted to have Justin Francis, the Founder and Executive Chair of Responsible Travel, deliver the keynote address. He explored the issue of who should take responsibility for promoting responsible tourism and how destinations can better support their visitors.

Francis emphasised the attributes of responsible travel and that the first principle is that you’re a guest in someone’s home. Having looked at the past decade of responsible travel he went on to explain that in the next decade, we all need to decide what we want to keep, to leave behind and how to plan differently as we enter an age of community that must be fair and just.
