So, how _does_ honey go from hive to jar? Find out this Saturday and next in our honey extraction workshop🍯
Get hands on as our expert honey harvester guides you as you uncap, extract and pack your very own jar of raw honey, fresh from the hive. (See below for more details!)

You’ll also learn about bees, honey, bi-products and beeswax all whilst sampling our delicious honey beer too 🍻 Bee prepared to get hands on - this mini honey harvest is the best experience for honey lovers and bee enthusiasts! 🐝

🍯 A simple guide to harvesting honey 🍯

1) Check the honey: Make sure the honey is ready to harvest. A frame is ready when it's about 75–80% capped. You can test if it's ready by shaking the frame—if the honey doesn't come out, it's probably ready.

2) Remove the frames: Take the frames of honey out of the hive.

3) Uncap the frames: Use a sharp knife to remove the wax caps that seal the honey cells.

4) Spin the frames: Put the uncapped frames in a honey extractor and spin them. The centrifugal force will fling the honey out of the comb while preserving it.

5) Collect the honey: The honey will gather at the bottom of the extractor and can be run off into a bucket.

6) Filter and settle: Filter the honey to remove impurities, and let it settle so air bubbles can rise to the surface.

7) Jar the honey: Pour the honey into jars or pots and voila! You’ve got your very own honey, delish.
