Heres a look back at cakes I done last year, most of these were for my own family. When I decided to go back to making cakes 2 years ago I had a lot of people say they were glad I was back making cakes but unfortunately it was very quiet. I’m not sure if it’s where I was away for a few years, the cost of living or a mix. Last year I decided to focus on wedding cakes only and again it was very quiet, a lot is done through social media these days and I cannot put 100% into this at the minute. I barely get any interaction when I do post which is demotivating in itself. I’m not sure where to go from here but for now i’ll continue to enjoy baking for the family until I come to a decision regarding Gems delights. Thank you to those that have ordered over the last two years 👍🏻

Good morning, so yesterday I made this raspberry, white chocolate and pistachio blondie for the kids. One of my girls said it’s the best thing shes ever eaten, It’s the second time I have made a blondie (the first one wasn’t great). It’s delicious (even if I do say so myself 🤣) i’ll definitely be making them again 👍🏻

Hello, it’s been lovely doing some baking this past few days. Heres a new recipe I tried for the kids, a kinder bueno brownie, they loved it and rated it 10/10 😊.

Good morning, I had a great 5 days in New York with my daughter for her 21st birthday. It’s the longest flight we have done but it was such a great experience. So much we crammed in, we walked for hours and hours, got the subway (that was an experience in itself 🤣) and it was so christmassy there. There were so many bakeries and of course I had to try a few so heres a little selection of some bits we tried.

I have always wondered what Carlos bakery was like, it was one of the programmes that inspired me to make cakes. As it’s on our doorstep here in New York I got myself a lobster tail and a cannoli, I have wanted to try a cannoli for years but it wasn’t what I expected (I wasn’t sure on the cream filling). The lobster tail was very good, i’ll be going back to try more before we leave 🤣

Yesterday was our second eldest daughter’s 21st birthday, she wanted a vanilla sponge filled and decorated with buttercream and decorated with edible flowers. This is the first time I have used edible flowers and I love how pretty they look, thank you to for the brilliant customer service and beautiful selection of flowers, my daughter loved her cake.

This was the first bouquet of cupcakes I made 8 years ago. My mum was one of my biggest supporters with my cakes and loved when I made her some so this was for her as a treat. How I wished I could make her some now x

Good morning, as a cake business owner it’s important that I have all the relevant training and necessary paperwork in place. Here is my food hygiene rating from my local council, allergy and intolerance training, level 2 food safety and hygiene certificate and cover of insurance. Always check your cake maker has the necessary paperwork needed.

Who loves a brownie? we love brownie in this house it’s not your regular brownie though, it’s a gluten free brownie.The kids never knew the difference and devoured it, soft and fudgy on the inside with a nice crisp top 👍🏻
