“For me, it’s about reflecting on past challenges and celebrating the amazing things that have been achieved, but also looking to future actions.”
As we reach the end of March, we’re taking a moment to reflect on positive strides taken as part of our ESG programme, Beyond the Lines. Following our #IWD2023 celebrations, we launched our inaugural Women’s Mentoring & Coaching Programme to help foster inclusion and empower women across the company.
“At Genius, our Women in Tech group is a great space for people to talk freely about challenges and how to overcome them. Sometimes just knowing you’re not on your own is enough. Now, I think the Mentoring & Coaching Programme will take this to the next level.” - Melissa Barrett, People Director

The past two years have forced us all to adapt to a new kind of normal - in and out of the office.
Dealing with those challenges hasn't been easy.
At Genius we put the highest priority on #mentalhealth and that's why we're acknowledging #worldmentalhealthday by encouraging all of our employees to take a timeout from work.
An extra day to rest, reset and prioritise mental health.
We know it's not possible for everyone to take a day off. So if you or someone you know is struggling be sure to look at the Mental Health Foundation's resources at the link below. And never be afraid to ask for help.
Because Mental Health IS Health.

Genius Life: #Pride Month Stephen Gardner
In our last installment of Genius Life: #Pride Month, one of Genius' longest tenured employees, Stephen Gardner, walks us though finding and creating allyship in the workplace.
"I was 24 when I reached the point of accepting myself and 25 when I felt I could come out to family and friends. I have always felt supported by the team at Genius which, as the years progressed, has allowed me to work to find my own potential without any regard to my sexuality. As the company has grown there has been some twists and turns and I will not pretend it has always been plain sailing, but that had more to do with challenging circumstances I found myself in as part of my own self development than it did with any level of support I received - which I have found to be unwavering whether it be my relationship with Mark and the exec team through to nearly everyone I have worked with throughout our different offices."
"I feel very fortunate to have grown within and helped to contribute to the safe working environment that Genius Sports strives to provide to people of all backgrounds. I recognize that for many people elsewhere that is not always the case. We are lucky in the UK with the general level of acceptance of LGBTQ+ people, but there are still many bad and intolerant workplaces and there is much work to do. There are many countries where the path to acceptance and tolerance is a long road ahead if they have even started at all."
"Pride reinforces two key tenets that are needed if acceptance and tolerance are to improve in any society. The need for visibility and positive role models, who can help to give hope to those struggling to find their way and to help to drive acceptance through education and activism. And the need for allies and the vital role they play, who come in all shapes and sizes, but at the end of the day are the people who help you to feel safe to be who you are. We are fortunate that there are many allies in Genius Sports and I would not have come as far as I
