Esta é uma das mais completas coleções de joias do mundo com mais de 3.000 joias contando a história da joalheria na Europa desde os tempos antigos até os dias atuais. 🇧🇷Incrível exibição de props, móveis e roupas usadas na série da Netflix ‘The Crown’ na casa de leilões Bonhams. Itens serão vendidos no início de fevereiro mas qualquer pessoa pode visitar a exposição antes da venda... Impressionante a atenção aos detalhes, a criatividade e como capturaram a essência de cada personagem de uma maneira clara e inteligente. Fantástica! 🫶🏻

Lucky to be present at such coveted Royal events!

Just two days after Trooping the Colour, the grand birthday parade to honor the reigning monarch, I was present at the annual Garter Day procession, where The King and the Knights process in grand velvet robes, glistening insignia and plumed hats in one of the most traditional ceremonies in the Royal calendar. 

This year’s annual ceremony of Trooping the Colour had over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians coming together to mark the Sovereign's official birthday.

The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain and each year it is celebrated with a procession and service in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Apenas dois dias depois do Trooping the Colour, a parada militar anual celebra o aniversário oficial do monarca, assisti a procissão anual da Ordem da Garter, onde O Rei e os Cavaleiros desfilam em grandes mantos de veludo, insígnias brilhantes e chapéus emplumados em um dos mais cerimônias mais tradicionais do calendário real.

A cerimônia do Trooping the Colour teve mais de 1.400 soldados, 200 cavalos e 400 músicos desfilando para marcar o aniversário oficial do Soberano.

A Ordem da Garter é a Ordem de Cavalaria mais antiga da Grã-Bretanha e todos os anos é comemorada com uma procissão e serviço religioso no Castelo de Windsor.

🇬🇧 Incredible powerful sculptural group by British-Nigerian artist Sokari Douglas Camp is on display at the V&A until 14 March. Addressing the legacies of slavery, issues of power and gender, Europe Supported by Africa and America is inspired by an abolitionist print by William Blake in which the three allegorical figures representing these continents embrace. “The three graces represent women in the world resting on their laurels as humankind is holding a wreath which ends with a petrol nozzles.”🇧🇷 Este incrível grupo escultural pela artista britânica-nigeriana Sokari Douglas Camp está em exibição no V&A até 14 de março. Abordando os legados da escravidão, questões de poder e gênero, ‘Europa apoiada pela África e América’ é inspirada em uma gravura pelo abolicionista William Blake onde três figuras alegóricas representando esses continentes se abraçam. A Coroa de St Edward, a peça central histórica das Joias da Coroa, foi removida da Torre de Londres para permitir que o trabalho de modificação comece antes da Coroação no sábado, 6 de maio de 2023.
De acordo com a tradição, o rei será coroado com a coroa de Santo Eduardo durante o serviço de coroação na Abadia de Westminster. O Rei também usará a Coroa do Estado Imperial durante o Serviço.
A Coroa de Santo Eduardo é a coroa historicamente usada no momento da coroação e foi usada por Sua Majestade a Rainha Elizabeth em sua coroação em 1953. Foi feita para Carlos II em 1661, como um substituto para a coroa medieval que havia sido derretida em 1649. Acredita-se que o original data do santo real do século XI, Eduardo, o Confessor – o último rei anglo-saxão da Inglaterra.”

St Edward’s Crown, the historic centrepiece of the Crown Jewels, has been removed from the Tower of London to allow for modification work to begin ahead of the Coronation on Saturday 6th May 2023.

As per tradition, The King will be crowned with St Edward's Crown during the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey. The King will also wear the Imperial State Crown during the Service.

St Edward's Crown is the crown historically used at the moment of Coronation, and was worn by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth at her Coronation in 1953. It was made for Charles II in 1661, as a replacement for the medieval crown which had been melted down in 1649. The original was thought to date back to the eleventh-century royal saint, Edward the Confessor – the last Anglo-Saxon king of England.

Cartas, manuscritos, fotografias e relatos, exploram o papel ativo que as comunidades chinesas vem desempenhando na sociedade britânica há mais de 300 anos. Destaques incluem um mapa da China desenhado pelo primeiro chinês a visitar o Reino Unido em 1687, autobiografia da escritora Ling Shuhua de 1953, dedicada a Virginia Woolf e arte de trincheira produzida por trabalhadores do Corpo de Trabalho chinês durante a Primeira Guerra Mundial. Privilegiada por ter ido a preview!✨ 🇬🇧 British Library exhibition Chinese and British opens to the public tomorrow, 18 November. Handwritten letters, photographs and oral histories, exploring the active part Chinese communities have played in British society for over 300 years. 🇧🇷O único conjunto completo de Bíblia e livro de orações feito para o Royal Closet do rei Charles I (1625-1649) estará em exibição nas Galerias Britânicas do museu V&A.
“Spetchley Bindings, um par de encadernações Stuart bordadas para o rei Carlos I com as armas reais nas laterais são atribuídas à oficina de Edmund Harrison (1590-1667), bordador do rei. Bordado em fio de metal prateado e dourado foi encomendado pelo rei para o seu Closet, uma galeria na Capela Real de seu palácio em Westminster, onde o rei e a rainha faziam suas orações privadamente.
O painel principal das encadernações mostra as armas da Inglaterra, Escócia e Irlanda, e, acima as grandes letras maiúsculas 'C R' (Carolus Rex- para o rei Carlos) podem ser vistas em ambos os lados de um leão coroado.
Essas encadernações, que acredita-se terem sido produzidas por volta de 1635-36, são o único conjunto completo de Bíblia e livro de orações feito para o closet real ainda em existência.
Cada vez que o closet era renovado, novas Bíblias e livros de oração eram produzidos e os antigos conjuntos eram entregues por gratificação ao escriturário do closet. Por volta de 1640-41, quando este conjunto foi substituído, ele passou para Richard Steward (c.1593-1651), decano da catedral de São Paulo, e na época escrivão do closet real.
Posteriormente, as encadernações passaram para a coleção de Spetchley Park, Worcestershire, residência da família Berkeley.”

🇬🇧In 2 weeks time, the only known existing complete set of Bible and prayer book made for Charles I’s Royal Closet will be going on display in the British Galleries at the V&A.

“Spetchley Bindings, a pair of Stuart bindings embroidered for Charles I with the royal arms to sides, attributed to the workshop of Edmund Harrison (1590-1667), embroiderer to the King.
Embroidered in silver and gilt metal thread and commissioned by Charles I for the Closet, a gallery in the Royal Chapel at Westminster, where the King and Queen said their private prayers.

The main panel on the bindings shows the arms of England, Scotland and Ireland, and, above this, the large capital letters 'C R' (Carolus Rex- for King Charles) can be seen on either side of a crowned lion.
These bindings, thought to be produced around 1635-36, are the only known complete set of Bible and prayer book made for the Closet that is still in existence.

When the Closet was habitually refurnished, new Bibles and prayer books were provided each time and the old sets were given by perquisite to the Clerk of the Closet. Around 1640-41 when this set was replaced, it passed to Richard Steward (c.1593-1651), designated Dean of St Paul's, and the Clerk of the Closet at that time.

At a later date, the bindings passed into the collection of Spetchley Park, Worcestershire, home of the Berkeley family. The bindings were accepted from a Berkeley Family Trust.”
