We were soooo lucky with the weather, having 360ยฐ views on 40 of the 42 peaks! What a journey and what an adventure!

Have you ever hiked in a whiteout? The sky blends with the ground. A ground in which you have security. A firm footing. Safety.

The whiteout offers nothing for the sense that we rely on most in the mountains - sight!
Up, down, forward, back, left, right... Everything is white!

Social media is full of blue sky days in the winter mountains and those are the days to savour, but the realism is that the weather can move in at any time... Hiking in a whiteout, to the uninitiated, is one of the most dangerous things to do in winter. Stay Safe out there!

Our second trip of the weekend was scheduled to be on but cancellations meant Jill was on her own, so, with a private guide, Jill elected to do something a little different!

Over to Stob Ban for the first day of adventure, then a scramble on Beinn a'Chaorainn on day 2.

Yes, hiking in the mountains in winter is colder than summer (a question I get asked a lot ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ), but it's still my favourite season to explore the UK hills...
