As we've previously discussed trips to New Zealand, I wanted to start Train Tuesday The Tranz Alpine Express in the South Island is a stunning 4 1/2 hour journey crossing. Typically departing From Christchurch, you'll get to really appreciate New Zealand's stunning landscape, and chugging through sacred Māori spots and tiny hamlets like Arthur's Pass and Cass, made famous by Rita Angus' painting in 1936. Known infamously as one of the world's most spectacular railway journeys you'll witness the Southern Alps and beautiful river valleys en route.
