“Being surrounded by hundreds of majestic elephants at Minneriya National Park was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. I also recommend exploring lesser known parks like the forest-blanketed landscapes of Wilpattu, home to the elusive Sri Lankan sloth bear, and Horton National Park where a unique sub-species of leopard has been increasingly spotted in recent years. Afterwards, unwind with a stay in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives, looking out to the most serene blue ocean in the world.”

Just back from Peru 🦜

Natalie, our Positive Impact Manager, recently returned from the Peruvian Amazon, with a stay at Tambopata Research Center. Accessible by a boat ride down the Tambopata River — home to jaguars along its banks — the centre is surrounded by 1.2 million hectares of protected wildlife conservation land. As a guest, you can explore the Colorado and Chuncho Clay Licks, where vibrant macaws gather on the cliffs, offering unforgettable wildlife encounters.

As a sustainable member of the Jacada Positive Impact Collection, Tambopata is taking active steps to combat deforestation in the Madre de Dios region. One of its key initiatives involves creating artificial nests to support macaws during their breeding season, playing a vital role in preserving both the species and their natural habitat.

Our experts’ take on Zambia for 2025 🦁

Jamey and Maria from our Africa team have just returned from an epic research trip across Zambia. They followed expert guides into the game-rich sanctuary of South Luangwa National Park on a walking safari, catching sight of majestic giraffes munching on acacia leaves and leopards stalking across the arid plains.

A night spent in a sleep-out under the ink-black sky was one of their standout experiences. Listening to the cry of wild dogs hunting in the nearby riverbed while lions rumbled in the darkness, with nothing but a thin gossamer sheet between them and the raw wilderness of the park, was a magical memory that will remain with them for years to come.

Our company was started in 2008 by Alex Malcolm, who was on a mission to provide a more passionate, more responsive and more caring travel experience. We now have offices on four continents, and Jacada’s consistent growth has never compromised Alex’s vision. Small is how we began boutique and personal is how we remain.
