You're in luck! 🍀 We are delighted to announce that Colchester Heritage Tours will hold charity tours in October and November to raise money for The Robin Cancer Trust, St Helena Hospice, and Colchester Foodbank. 💙

All tour dates and types are listed below. 📅
Tours are just £5 per person and kids under 12 go free! 🎉

Unless otherwise stated, all tours will start at the Mercury Theatre by the Balkerne Gate. 🎭

Every October, we celebrate Edward the Confessor, the king and saint whose shrine lies at the heart of the Abbey.

Everyone is welcome to join us for the annual pilgrimage to the shrine on Saturday 19 October, and for services throughout Edwardtide.

When the ancient London Bridge, with its medieval foundations, was finally demolished in the 1830s several of its 14 stone alcoves that had sheltered pedestrians were saved from destruction. One was purchased by the nearby Guy's Hospital, where it remains today. In it sits a bronze statue of the poet John Keats, who once trained as a surgeon at the hospital.
