Explore the sights of a city whilst going for a run. We quickly became London's favourite running tour provider but also discovered something else that we could do. Immersive team running challenges - solve a murder based in London's sordid past out on the streets of London. We'll give you a map and brief you on the investigation. And then you're off to the streets to find witnesse

s, suspects and clues. The fastest team to get the right answer wins. We quickly found that our knowledge of London's history coupled with our vivid imagination made us the perfect company for these team challenges. And they've become pretty popular. We'd love you to join us for a private tour, group tour or team challenge event. We'll show you a side of London that most people never see.

Cat continued our series of summer tours yesterday with our first Great Fire of London 5k of the year 🔥

She led a fantastic group on the route of the fire, learning about how it started, what happened as the blaze began to engulf central London, and how the city recovered from one of the greatest tragedies in its history. Thanks to everyone who came along 👏

Happy 28th wedding anniversary to this incredible pair 😍

There are many ways to celebrate such an occasion. A fancy meal out, a mini-break, a trip to the theatre... But we're absolutely thrilled that Suzanne and Eduardo chose to Run the Thames Bridges with Secret London Runs' half marathon audio tour. 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏻

The weather didn't put them off, and together they ran side by side in the pouring rain over 17 Thames Bridges between Tower Hill and Putney, plugged into our audio directions and commentary that was triggered by their GPS location. 👍️

We loved hearing about your adventures Suzanne and Eduardo, and we love having you as part of our community. From all of your friends at Secret London Runs, wishing you a very happy anniversary. 😍

Courage calls to courage everywhere 💪🥰

Feeling pumped for Sunday's 12km Suffragettes and Sacrifice tour (a gentle pace and there are still tickets left, 1pm). 💜💚🤍

We put this tour on the schedule before the election was announced. But seeing all the excitement yesterday, it feels very timely to remember the drastic action taken by thousands of women (and some men) so that many of us could visit the polling station yesterday.

So if you're twiddling your thumbs on Sunday 😃 please come join me for a really important run remembering places and people key to the women's suffrage movement.

I've been working really hard to come back from an ankle injury for this tour (nothing dramatic, I turned my ankle on the school run 😳), and really excited that it looks like it will just about be ok - with a lot of strapping.

It was a big day at Secret London Runs HQ yesterday... ✨️

We sent out our first registration page for a private 2024 Christmas lights running tour! 😍

The countdown to Christmas is ON.

It's fair to say that our business is seasonal. We are VERY busy at Christmas and we spend the 6 months leading up to it on research, logistics, customer service and recruiting/training guides to make sure that thousands of people have an amazing time running round the Christmas lights with us. Actually giving the tours ourselves takes up a very small percentage of that time (we can't possibly give them all ourselves) 🎄🏃🎅

And the rest of the year is... shall we say "moderate"? We're able to give a lot more of the tours ourselves - and the reason we set up this company is because we LOVE giving running tours of London.

In the past it's made me a bit sad. I (Vanessa) really wish we had as much interest all year round as we do at Christmas (e.g. in women's history month), and I love being able to run and connect with our customers by giving the majority of the tours myself.

However... this year I've vowed to embrace the love for Christmas and feel blessed that it keeps our business going round! So if you want Christmas - you will absolutely get it in 2024 from Secret London Runs!!!!

There are going to be 3 different 10k and 5k routes for you to choose from - either on our public tours or through private bookings.

And we're also working on some other festive surprises.

Saturday 29th June was a landmark occasion for our little company... we gave our first ever running tour OUTSIDE LONDON 🤯

Thank you to the Cambridge branch of the Vegan Runners who came out with us to celebrate Pride Month, with an exclusive LGBTQ+ themed tour of the city!

On a gloriously sunny morning, we jogged through colleges, parks and along the River Cam while learning about Cambridge's fascinating q***r history 🏳️‍🌈

The sun was out this weekend for the debut of our brand new London's Greatest Hits 10k running tour! ☀️

I (Josh) had an amazing time sharing my passion for music with two brilliant groups of runners, on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. We ran through Camden and Soho, learning about some of London's hidden musical history along the way 🎸🎷🎹

Matt - wearing possibly his shortest shorts yet - led an amazing group through some of our favourite q***r history in London, from St Bride's Church to Covent Garden and Magpie alley, to the Oscar Wilde Statue near Trafalgar Square, St Bart's hospital, Weston and Charring Cross hospital, Broadcasting house and many more fantastic locations along the way.

We've done really well this year, and have made it to June without mentioning Christmas. 😁🙌

Tickets for our public Christmas lights running tours will be going on sale in August but we are now taking private bookings for clubs, offices and groups of friends.

So if you'd like to be taken round London's Christmas lights this year over a beautiful 10k or 5k running tour (or 3k walking tour), with your own private guide playing festive tunes all the way-hey-hey, please get in touch with us asap.

In an exclusive reveal, this year there will be 3 different Christmas lights tours all available as 10k or 5k runs. Working titles 😃:

✨️ The Big Ones - all the big Christmas lights displays of central London (a new route/theme for 2024)

✨️ BRAND NEW: Christmas lights in Chelsea - jingling through Chelsea, Battersea and Belgravia

✨️ Christmas lights in the City - running through the Square Mile and London Bridge (this tour was new for 2023, and we'll be following the same route).

Secret London Runs.... in Cambridge! 😮

We're very excited and wanted to tell you first...

For many years now, we've toyed with the idea of giving tours in locations outside of London (obviously, we might need to rethink our name 😄). But there's always been so much to do in London. And then virtually! So project 'other locations' always took a back seat.

Which means I (Vanessa) will be forever grateful to our new relationship with , which has pushed us into making the step. After giving the London branch of the club a private women's history tour in March, they asked if they they could book our pride tour for June. But, they also asked - could you give LGBTQ+ running tours in other locations?

Last night I'm very pleased to confirm that the East England branch of Vegan Runners confirmed that our first ever running tour outside London will be a private LGBTQ+ theme in Cambridge! 🌈🥳

Both of us (Josh and Vanessa) have lived in Cambridge, so we know our way round well, and are looking forward to sharing the city's q***r history with new friends.

Of course, we'd like to put this tour on for the public at another time in June, and we'd also like to consider if Cambridge would be a good fit for a self-guided audio tour- I think "Run the Cambridge Colleges" would be a great sequel to "Run the Thames Bridges". Josh isn't so sure.

This is my life today 🤯🙄

As lots of you probably know, Secret London Runs is a small, family run business. And that means when things need doing - we usually have to do it ourselves!

We're delighted with the response we've had to our Run the Thames Bridges half marathon - and today it's time to start sending out our second batch of gorgeous wooden finisher medals to participants 🥇

If you've signed up in last couple of months, look out for a medal shaped package coming your way in the next week or two, ready for you to unwrap once you've completed the half marathon.

Behind the scenes of a 6am private 10k running tour 🤫 It feels like a lifetime ago, but pre-covid, a few times a week, I would go to a customer's hotel, pick them up and take them on a private running tour of my favourite London history. I love it, meet amazing people and share an incredible couple of hours with them. I did my first one in a while on Monday and took a bit of behind the scenes footage of my morning. 🙂 ⏰ 4.30am alarm 🚪5am leave the house 🚌 5.12am catch the bus 🏨 5.45am arrive at the Savoy to pick up client. 🚽 5.50am test the facilities at the Savoy (they were really fabulous). 🤝 6am meet my lovely client. 🏃‍♀️ 6am - 8am run and chat about London's awesome history. 👋 8am say goodbye to lovely client 👶 8.25am pick up son from husband's work 🏠 9.14am HOME. And a whole day of 2 year old fun ahead 🎉 #runningtour #behindthescene #womeninbusinesss #workingmum

We took Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots to Farnborough, along with Henry VIII's wives, of course! 👸👸 And they had an absolute blast meeting you all! 🎉🎉 Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and had some fun with a queen. ❤️ I did shout "let's give Elizabeth some action" a couple of times before realising what I was saying. I did of course mean camera action! 😯 And yes, that is my Dad doing the kissing 💋😳

How it feels when you find your tribe. 💜 The first ever Secret London Runs Festival last year was all the feels - with members of our community coming together for the first time after lockdown. Most of us had never met before. Lots of the attendees had only come to know us through our lockdown challenges - and this was their first Secret London Runs event in the flesh. 🙌 But it was beautiful! And we had the most amazing time sharing the best of London with runners and walkers from all over the country. And the resounding feedback was "When is the next one?!" 🥳 The next one is the 10th-12th June 2022 - and we're welcoming all runners and walkers with a sense of adventure to join our friendly tribe for one or all the activities on the schedule. 3 years ago, we launched as a running tour company. "Sightrunning" - explore the sights of a city whilst going for a run.

As well as sightseeing tours for tourists, we also began writing themed tours of London for locals, starting with women’s history and gin. And we haven’t looked back - thousands of people join our themed tours every year, many of them from London and the surrounding area.
