The latest intake of both experienced hires and graduates - the largest to have joined at one time in the US - has taken our headcount to 102.

This time next week a group of fearless Alfa colleagues will be battling with the British 'summer' weather to take part in the Three Peaks Challenge, which involves hiking the three highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours. Yes you read that correctly: 24 hours!
The challenge will start on Ben Nevis in Scotland (1345m / 4,413ft), followed by Scaffel Pike in England (978m/ 3,209ft) and will finish with Snowdon in Wales (1,085m / 3,560 ft) where we will be joined by a few other Alfa hikers.
We are doing this to fundraise for our new EMEA charity partner, Depaul UK, who do amazing work to tackle youth homelessness in the UK. Your donations could support Depaul with the services they offer including emergency accommodation, longer term housing, support, counselling, prevention work and more.

It's one of our favourite times of the year: our annual Hackathon! This one is particularly special as it's our first transatlantic Hackathon event, connecting US and EMEA colleagues to collaborate on some amazing new ideas. We take innovation seriously at Alfa. Earlier this week, our Environmental Impact Community arranged for a group of colleagues to use some of their volunteering time at Hackney City Farm. The team helped out with moving manure and got to feed the lambs 🐑😍 - although it was soggy and muddy it was ultimately hugely rewarding and we are thrilled to be able to give time to great organisations like these!
Last week we held a very special day raising awareness of mental health here at Alfa. We were treated to a short relaxing meditation session with colleague Fernanda Prado, fresh flavoured water and teas, some healthy snacks and neck and shoulder massages were offered during the day. Our global Mental Health Allies do fantastic work and we appreciate these great supportive events!
Alfa US just held a Spring Bike Tune Up! This event was a part of our regular Michigan Office Socials. Huge thanks to Jay Williamson from Redshed Cycles, who came to our Royal Oak Office to tune up and repair colleagues' bikes. We also had some fabulous spring-themed treats and flowers to take home!
Our EMEA March Company Meeting: a jam packed agenda full of exciting product news and tons of Alfa presenters taking the stage. Our afternoon social is underway at Boom Battle with colleagues getting competitive with plenty of games - including axe-throwing!
Another successful Alfa US Company Meeting and Michigan Office Week is now in the books! Our meeting theme 'Choose Your Own Adventure' included a leadership update, new project details, an interactive 'Headlines of the Future' breakout session, lots of in-person collaboration, and a choice of team building events - all fueled with delicious specialty coffee! These quarterly US gatherings continue to be fun and also excellent opportunities to support Alfa’s core values to let great ideas grow and being better together!

Last week's Holiday Meeting in the US was a huge hit. The morning was bursting with presentations and Lightning Talks, and was followed by the most marvellous masquerade-themed social. Another epic Alfa event!
Thank you to all those that took part in our Movember 60km Challenge at Alfa. Over 60 colleagues entered their distance and collectively we went from Melbourne to Sydney and back four times!! A global team effort of 3304.23km which raised $605.3 in Aus/NZ, $1717.75 in the US and £980.18 in EMEA.

Our December Company Meeting in EMEA featured a most excellent and eclectic selection of Lightning Talks from colleagues, as well as Company Awards that made us all very proud. We followed our meeting with a Thames cruise on the Dixie Queen for a festive lunch and entertainment. Another great day spent together. Our US and APAC meetings are up next!

At Alfa we are delighted to have furthered our commitment to environmental transparency by disclosing our environmental impact through CDP, a global non-profit that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure platform.
With a record 23000+ companies disclosing through CDP in 2023, disclosing data on environmental impact is now a business norm.
Alfa’s data will be added to the most comprehensive inventory of self-reported environmental data in the world – helping to drive action through greater transparency.
By disclosing through CDP, Alfa is prepared to respond to the increasing demand for environmental transparency from financial institutions, customers and policymakers.

Our latest Activity Challenge (during which, colleagues and their families log activity across a month and Alfa donates to our partner charities) resulted in some super stats...
We covered 3,237 miles: 2,068 cycling, 705 running, 435 walking, 4 golfing, and 25 swimming. Gym-goers pushed through over 3,000 reps. 40 hours were spent gardening (including volunteering at Detroit Zoo!). And we did 70 hours of yoga! 😅
Phew! All of this raised a staggering £1,250 for The Food Foundation in EMEA, $316 for Beyond Zero Emissions in Australia, $81 for Kids Can in New Zealand and $1,032 in the US.

We marked Black History Month in our London office, enjoying delicious Nigerian inspired cuisine from MayKolly. On the menu was grilled chicken, fried yam, tomato stew, Jollof and fried rice, vegetarian salad, Plantain and Moin Moin (an authentic steamed bean pudding) followed by sweet Puff Puff and ice cream. Thank you to the Alfa for Racial Equity Community and our Event Team for arranging such a fabulous lunch!
