The pop-up shop is back this December and can be found at 245 Regent Street. 💖

The “festive department store with a difference” enables customers to purchase winter essentials for refugees and displaced people whilst learning about the struggles they are facing. There are departments for shelters, toiletries, clothes and children. There is also a fantastic installation by the Empathy Museum called A Mile in My Shoes.

There’s also some brilliant merchandise you can buy for yourself, family or friends.

Choose Love was set up in 2015 and so far, it has supported over 5 million people worldwide.

We are delighted to share that family-friendly, accessible Winter Wonderland in nearby Hyde Park is open for the festive season and will run until 5 January 2025. Open from 10am to 10pm each day (except Christmas Day), Winter Wonderland offers attractions to suit all ages including fairground rides, ice skating and a Christmas market.

One of London’s most beloved winter attractions, Skate at Somerset House, is back this season with a fantastic selection of DJ line-ups, pop-up restaurants and bars, festive shopping and of course ice skating beside the stunning 40-foot, fairy lit Christmas tree. ⛸️

Running until 12 January, Skate is open each day (apart from 25 December), with bookable sessions from 9am until 10pm.

If you’re considering a break in London with your dog, we would be delighted to welcome you to stay in one of our dedicated apartments at 9 Hertford Street. We provide pet beds, bowls, toys and treats for your companion so you don’t have to worry about packing for them too, and we can organise dog sitting and dog walking upon request. 🐾

We really appreciate our recent guest Luke sharing his experience: “A wonderful stay in a perfect location. The most pet friendly place we have ever stayed in London and we have tried many. We stayed in the lovely Mayfair Club apartment with a huge, private and safe terrace for dogs. The staff really make this 9 Hertford Street truly 5 stars. To feel welcomed with dogs and not rushed out of the way like in many “pet friendly” hotels in London is very rare. We also used their dog sitting service so we could enjoy a theatre show, knowing the dogs were looked after for the evening by the lovely Lourdes. 5 minutes walk from both St James’s Park and Hyde Park and so many dog friendly places nearby. 5 stars and we will most certainly be back.”

This is what Christmas is all about. This wonderful guest isn’t home for Christmas as her dad manages one of the busiest Winter Wonderland rides. She was so happy to spend some time with our lovely Lourdes, decorating the reception and the apartments. What a wonderful family festive feel! 🎄

In a tradition dating back to 1947, London is gifted a Christmas tree by Norway each year, and this year’s Norwegian Spruce arrived at Trafalgar Square today! 🎄

The 20 metre tree is c.57 years old and weighs about a tonne. It was transported by an electric lorry and a new tree has been planted to replace it. It will be decorated with strings of energy-efficient lights.

The tree will be lit in a special free, un-ticketed ceremony this Thursday at 5.30pm, where there will be carol singing and poetry readings, too.

Koyn is a fantastic place to eat; it offers Japanese cuisine on one floor and a Thai menu on the other. It also has an izakaya-inspired bar, offering drinks from Japan and Thailand.

Koyn can be found at 38 Grosvenor Street which is a scenic 13-minute stroll from Hertford Street, taking you through Shepherd Market and Berkeley Square.

We are thrilled to share that the iconic ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz will be on show at .uk London office in Hanover Street from today until 2 December. 👠

The slippers are one of four pairs used in the 1939 film. Heritage Auctions explain: “The Ruby Slippers are a vintage pair of Innes Shoe Co. red silk faille heels with uppers and heels covered with hand-sequined silk georgette, lined in white leather, and the leather soles are painted red with orange felt adhered to the front foundation of each shoe. The bows are made of hand-cut buckram cloth and are slightly different in size. Rhinestones rim the bows, which are filled with bugle beads surrounding three center jewels.”

The shoes are on display on weekdays from 10am until 6pm.

We highly recommend Monet and London: Views of the Thames at the . This landmark exhibition has brought Monet’s series of Thames paintings together and are being shown in the UK for the very first time, some 120+ years after they were created.

Monet visited London three times between 1899 and 1901 (staying at the Savoy Hotel, just a short distance from the Courtauld), during which time he was fascinated by how the industrial fog affected the light. He created a series of studies, capturing views of the Thames, the surrounding architecture and the winter’s light, which are incredibly evocative.

The Thames collection was exhibited in Paris in 1904 to critical acclaim. Monet’s dream was to then show it in London the following year but unfortunately, it never came to fruition.
