📢📢📢 Our summer program in China is back 😀

Over the years, many of our teachers have had a blast in China on our short-term program, so we're thrilled it's back!

On this program, you teach in Shanghai for 2 months over summer, and you get to travel in China for an additional month 🇨🇳

The work focuses on 1-1 tuition rather than on teaching classes.

It's a great way to get a taste of China and have an unforgettable experience.

It was great to catch up with some of our kindergarten teachers in China recently: Felicia, James and Sophie.

They told us about what a day as an English teacher at a Chinese kindergarten looks like, in terms of:

➡️ the ages of the children they teach

Marathon on the Great Wall of China ✅

What a brilliant achievement by 🙌🙌

Not the easiest terrain for a 42km run, but the view was worth it 😀

Kathryn started in China on our program in 2019, and she's still in Shanghai and going strong.

Our teacher is off to a great start as a teacher in Xingyi, Guizhou province 🇨🇳

She recently met up with another expat in the city, and she's been out exploring the city and sampling food with a colleague.

She's working on her PowerPoint slides for her upcoming lessons next 👍

Salary: £1,270 – £1,560 per month (depending on experience), $1700- $2085 per month (depending on experience)

Requirements: Graduates from the UK, US, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand

Hungary 🇭🇺 Starting asap, by November 2024 at the latest– urgent 👍

Working at an upper primary school with grades 5-8, in Budapest
Salary: A compensation package of £935/ $120, which includes free housing
Start: asap, by November 2024 at the latest
Contact: 8 months, till the end of June 2025; contract can be renewed.
Requirements: Graduates from the UK, US, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand

We offer a package of services to help you move, which includes the job, help obtaining a visa or residence permit, ongoing support, and we put you in contact with other teachers in Poland or Hungary. The fee for our Poland program is £550 / $735, for our Hungary program it is £420 / $560

Brianna has touched down in China today to start teaching in Xingyi.

Brianna spent time in Beijing in 2018, and she's been looking to go back to China ever since.

She gained invaluable teaching experience as a Sunday School Teacher, working with children of all ages.

She'll hit the ground running and be an awesome teacher, have a great time Brianna!

New placement alert 🚨🚨

We're excited to announce that we're offering a new placement option in China, from February 2025 onwards.

It's at a vocational college in Ningbo, teaching young adults.

Free accommodation is offered on campus, and you'll work as part of a team of foreign teachers.

We are recruiting teachers to work as part of the English department, the School of E-commerce, the School of Business English and the School of Accounting.

We aim to offer wide variety of positions all over China, and with all age groups.

Hi, it's Arnold here 👋

I met up with our former teacher Keiran last night for a China themed evening. We went to a lecture at the London Business School by Dr Keyu Jin, about her new book: Understanding a Global Superpower: Another Look at the Chinese Economy.

It was interesting, and it was also great to compare notes with Keiran on our trips to China this summer.

And of course we stopped by the pub after the lecture ⚽️😀

I'll be meeting ip with Keiran and a number of other Teach English In China and Impact Teaching alumni next month, on in the evening of Thursday 14th November, near London Bridge station.

China's National Day on October 1st kicks off a weeklong holiday knows as "Golden Week."

What a ride 🚴🤩

covered over 130km in double quick time, from Xuzhou to Suqian, in Jiangsu province.

After starting on our program in Xuzhou in 2012, Ruaridh had taken life in China by storm, and he's been there ever since 🙌

This is a lovely time of year to be in Eastern China, as daytime temperatures are still in the mid 20s celsius ☀️

Our amazing partner Mingxing took our new teachers on a hike last week 🥾

She took them to her favourite route in Shenzhen, that overlooks Shenzhen Reservoir and offers some stunning views of the city 🌆

One of the perks of working as a state school teacher in Shenzhen is that our local partners organise regular activities and excursions 🙌

Are you looking to teach English abroad, but are you not quite ready for Asia?

Fulltime jobs at schools in Europe can be hard to come by during the school year, but we are recruiting for 3 of them at the moment 🤛

In Poland's capital Warsaw, we offer jobs at a private primary school, as well as at a school that works with teenagers and adults. Salaries are between £1210 and £1560 per month depending on experience ($1620- $2085) 🇵🇱

The positions are for an urgent start in October or November.

For our Hungary program, we are looking for an upper primary school teacher (grades 5-8) for work in Budapest.

The salary package for this job is £935 / $1200 which includes free housing.

This position Budapest is for a start asap, no later than November.

Using a shared bike can be a very convenient and affordable way to get around Shanghai 🚲

There's various apps that offer bikes, like Hellobike (哈啰单车), Qingju Bike (青桔单车) and Meituan Bike (美团单车).

Prices start at 1.5 RMB per half an hour, just £ 0.15 (or $0.20)
