Sunflowers Barn was formerly a Duchy of Cornwall barn built over 200 years ago on the west of the Seaton Valley in South East Cornwall.
The Barn can easily sleep 5 (and a baby) in its 3 bedrooms. A lightweight full-size single divan bed can be added to the double bedroom for a young child who still prefers to share with parents or for a group of 5 single people – or added to the single bedroom for a group of 6 people.
The front door leads into a large beamed living area with an open view across unspoilt countryside. Outside is a picnic table where you can sit and enjoy this same view. This room has comfortable leather settees, TV/DVD player and music centre at one end and a well-equipped kitchen (installed in 2015) and dining area at the other. Also on the ground floor are the large family bathroom and twin bedroom.
On the first floor is the master bedroom with a king-size bed, en-suite with shower and a door opening onto an upper level patio with outside furniture and a lawned garden. There is also a spacious single bedroom on the upper floor and parking space for 2 cars outside.
We're taking weekly bookings from April 1st to August 29th, with arrivals & departures generally on Saturdays.
Local Area
Sunflowers Barn is situated in a quiet part of Cornwall in the small hamlet of Trelowia. There are coastal walks and many lovely beaches nearby, including Seaton Beach, just a 3.5-mile drive or 45mins walk, mainly through spectacular woodland. The steep hill on your return will keep you fit!
The attractive small fishing town of Looe is just 5 miles away, with a myriad of shops, pubs & cafes and lovely sandy beach. Quieter beaches nearby include expansive Whitsand Bay and stunning Lantic Bay.
Though tucked away in a deeply rural location, the Barn is just ¾ of a mile from the main road, making it easy to travel to many local tourist attractions. These include several historic houses, The Lost Gardens of Heligan (under an hour) and The Eden Project (30 mins). Exeter Airport is an hour's drive and the Brittany Ferries port at Plymouth just 25 mins.
For younger guests, there's a monkey sanctuary, large go-track and a long zip wire over an unused quarry nearby.
Golf, fishing (on lakes or at sea), canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding are also available locally.
Or for those just wanting to relax, the quiet garden with its beautiful views makes this barn an ideal retreat.
