We've been welcoming families (many again and again) to our farm for more than 25 years. We love seeing young children and toddlers make new friends and new discoveries - whether it's finding a freshly-laid egg or riding a velvet-n

osed pony. Seeing adults unwind and recharge is always rewarding too. That's because we provide ourselves on providing holidays that are as fun for little ones as they are relaxing for grown-ups.

Back in January, we asked for farm memories. This comment from one of our brilliant farm families melted our hearts and captured what Tredethick is all about.

Not big attractions, but the simple, funny, unforgettable delights that shape childhood:

"All the memories. Atticus the lion cat, Esme the adopt-a-pet. Rescuing escapologist lambs, hot tub in the snow. The magical eggs laid by the hens at Easter. Goats eating apples from the tree, running down the drive with piglets, first armbandless swim strokes, the best ever treasure hunt around the farm, soft play and hot coffee on a sofa, the children’s faces when we kept a visit a surprise, the pony rides and watching my children happily explore the great outdoors in a safe environment and feed one young boy’s dream of becoming a farmer. Just waiting to add, when Matilda meets Tilly the Tractor. Maybe later this year?"

We reopen on 14 February, ready for another season of small adventures, big laughs, and golden country memories.

We love what mini farmers can do! It's a wonderful way to experience spring in the countryside. As well as bottle feeding lambs, our tots help care for goats, pigs, hens, alpacas and ponies. And watching your children say goodnight to the animals wintering in the barns each evening is one of the most heart-warming things we know 🤗

Currently we have two short breaks left in February (both for 4 nights from 24 Feb) and decent availability for March. You can see live availability and book online...

There’s no need to clock up the miles to find adventure, and fun. Within just 20 minutes of our doorstep, there is so much to discover:
Lostwithiel
A charming, historic little town with speciality shops and restaurants.
Lerryn
A lovely creek-side village with buggy-friendly walks, stepping-stones and ice creams on the village green.
Restormel Castle
A 14th century motte and bailey castle run by English Heritage. A wonderful place to explore and fire children’s imaginations.
Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway
A must-see attraction for Thomas the Tank Engine fans.
Fowey
Where the river meets the sea. Great shops and eateries, plus boat hire, ferry trips and pontoons for dangling crab-lines.
The Eden Project
A world-class attraction with huge tropical and Mediterranean biomes.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan
Discover these magical gardens nestled in a hidden valley above the fishing village of Mevagissey.
Polkerris beach
A very child-friendly beach with great facilities including Sam’s on the Beach, a funky family restaurant.
Charlestown
There’s normally at least one sailing ship in port looking like it’s just sailed out of Pirates of the Caribbean. There’s also a pebbly beach and a good selection of cafés and restaurants.
Cardinham Woods
Lovely cycling and walking trails, a playpark and café.

Want the down low on February and March in Cornwall? These months are all about slowing down (when you can), making memories and burning off the endless toddler energy plus maybe sneaking in a hot chocolate (or two).
🚴 Lanhydrock: Just around the corner, this National Trust spot has it all – a balance bike track for mini speedsters and woodland trails that are totally buggy-friendly.
🐟 Fowey Aquarium: Little ones will love meeting Cornwall’s underwater residents – there’s even a hands-on rock pool for those who aren’t afraid to get their sleeves wet!
☕ Coastal hot choc stops: Winter walk along the North Coast? Check. Steaming hot chocolate with extra marshmallows and cream? Double check.
🐑Farm favourites: Of course, Tredethick has plenty to keep even the littlest farmers smiling – morning animal feeding, soft play adventures, and lamb visits whenever you fancy.

One thing’s for sure—there’s no chance of boredom here! 🌟
From pony rides 🐴 and animal feeding 🐑 to racing around the balance bike track on a mini tractor, splashing in the indoor heated pool, and letting loose in the soft play barn, the fun is non-stop. Add in farm trail walks with scavenger hunts (packed with wildlife!) 🌳, and it’s safe to say both little ones and grown-ups have the time of their lives soaking up everything farm life has to offer. Plus, it’s the perfect way to run off all the energy those little ones have and keep them active through these soggy months, with plenty of outdoor and indoor adventures to enjoy!

Spring has almost sprung, and our lambs will be here to steal the show (and our hearts) in no time! 🌼💛
🍼 Morning: Four days a week join in our morning animal feeding sessions, complete with bottle-feeding your very own lamb (1 lamb per cottage).
🌙 Say goodnight: Most little ones love to have one more visit before bedtime (anything to delay the day coming to an end) so head to the barn and tuck in your woolly friend and give them cuddle to wind down for the evening!
⏰ Pop by anytime: Our lambs are always happy to see you – swing by their barn whenever you like to say hello.
✨Extra bonus: Now you can book a family private session with the lambs where you can bottle feed or cuddle – depending on the age of the lambs and what they’re up to for a cost of £45 per family and take home two lamb plushies to remember the occasion.

More than 75% of our electricity comes from a micro wind turbine and solar panels, and the miscanthus we grow helps keep our indoor pool heated sustainably. 💧 Our eco-friendly practices are all about preserving Cornwall’s beauty for future generations. 💚🐾.

Is a farm stay the perfect break for young families this spring? We certainly think so - we might be a little biased -but here’s why:
From splashing in our warm, pristine indoor pool to exploring the soft play barn, from collecting fresh eggs and feeding our friendly goats and pigs to gentle lead-rein pony rides, Tredethick is packed with fun and fascination for curious young minds. Springtime on the farm is hard to beat!
There’s even more to love as we welcome our newest and cutest arrivals: the lambs! 🐑 Little farmers can bottle-feed these fluffy bundles of energy and get properly involved in farm life.

✨ Happy New Year from all of us at Tredethick—Ashlyn, Jenny, Liz, John and the team! ✨
As the farm wakes up to the first morning of 2025, we’re looking forward to the gentle rhythm of the seasons that bring the year to life. From snowdrops and sharp frosts laced on windows to the earliest buds on conker trees and the first time we hear our lonely woodpeckers tapping out their call for spring mates!
Lambs will soon be arriving (always a treat for young visitors who enjoy bottle-feeding and cuddling our woolly friends)🐑

January is our time to take stock, spruce up and spring clean the cottages, and add a few thoughtful touches. John’s new little jockeys' station, complete with scales and a height chart, will add something new to pony time, while Granary’s twin bedroom is being refreshed with beautiful Susie Watson soft furnishings.

Winter on the farm has its own quiet charm—cosy cottages, crackling fires, hands-on animal time, and plenty of space and nature to explore. We’re looking forward to welcoming you back in February.

2024 at Tredethick was one for the books! Here’s a look back at our year:

🚜 January kicked off with Tilly the Tractor and cosy new Susie Watson soft furnishings for Hayloft, Dairy, and Wagonhouse. Oh, and we planted a whopping 200m of hedgerow 🌿 and a 53-tree fruit and nut orchard 🌳!
🐑 Our barn was bustling with lambs, ponies, pigs, and goats—our little farmers were kept VERY busy. Plus, we welcomed Jack, T***s, and Mr Snugs 🐾 while sadly saying goodbye to the legendary Atticus. Meanwhile, Seamus, the alpaca continues to steal hearts! 🦙
🌾 Spring brought the miscanthus harvest, and we celebrated Farmer Jenny’s big birthday 🎉 (plus a farmhouse tea party with Little Joe).
📸 Special shout out to artist Sally Chadwick and our lovely visitors Sophie Callahan and for capturing the farm’s magic.
🌼 From wildflower meadows to winter blooms, the farm’s beauty shone through the seasons.
And as always, our funny, friendly animals brought the laughs, love, and chaos we wouldn’t have any other way! 🐴🐓🐾
Here’s to more adventures in 2025! 🌟

💕2023, what did we love about you? 💕 1) Watching our lambs race around the barn as they got stronger and skippier! 2) Rupert and Rollo, our Pygmy goat kids, who learnt to jump stiles and shimmy under gates. They are huge fun 3) Crystalline south coast water, beach breakfasts with family and friends 4) Dreamy sunset rides with pastoral views 5) Wildflowers and wisteria. Dreams for next year? So excited to plant a heritage orchard this spring 🍎🌳 Cornish apples, pears and plums as well as mulberries, walnuts and almonds. We’ll create a ‘wildflowers, winter food and walnuts’ trail so families can enjoy the wildflower meadow, winter bird food field and orchards with flowers, fruits and birdsong.
