What a day for our father & son guests! Today was all about the landings, but specifically their grandad/dad who landed in , moved to & was finally captured & interrogated in a barn in , and then went back and revisisited in the 70's. Today our guide Sharon HB started the story at before walking our guests in their relatives footsteps & visiting the sites he was actually at on . What an amazing, emotional day.

A wet finish to the day for our guide Sharon HB & guests, but another brilliant one. Today was all about & beach landings & remembrance. Stops included house, Juno & Gold beaches,as well as British Normandy Memorial & Commonwealth War Graves Commission . Now time to dry out ready for a very emotional day tomorrow!

The beautiful in Memorial Gardens . Unveiled in 2008 to replace the old memorial, it commemorates those from the town lost in , (including civilians) and a soldier lost serving more recently in from the Yorkshire regiment.

Communal Commonwealth War Graves Commission Extension . Begun by the in Oct 1914, the cemetery was then used throughout by CCS units in the area,apart from a short spell when the village was in range of the front line
1180 men now stand easy here.

Cannot recommend this book highly enough and have mentioned it on all of our recent tours as a go to for the bigger story of a man with an incredible story.

Communal Commonwealth War Graves Commission & Extension . Between the 2 parts, the cemeteries were started in June 1915,& used right through to Dec 1918, predominantly by CCS & medical units in the area. Just under 1300 men now stand easy here including 12 graves.

Communal Commonwealth War Graves Commission & Extension . The town was used by field ambulance units throughout with burials starting in 1915 through to October 1918. 356 men now stand easy here across the two sites, plus a further 24 burials.

A brilliant end to a brilliant 5 day tour with our family group. Stops at Omaha beach & wrapped up the American sector, before finishing at the British Normandy Memorial to pay our final respects & take in the stunning exhibition. A fantastic tour with a fantastic group. Now home bound!

A final bonjour to for this tour and what a beautiful city it is.
This morning we finish the sector & visit the British Normandy Memorial before heading back to port and our ferry home, and all this on what is forcast to be the hottest day yet! !

A fantastic final full day with our family group, looking at the sector & remembrance around the story of & . Stops & discussions included , at , the brilliant memorial, German and , and all under amazing sky's and in astounding weather! All finished off with a top meal including onion soup!

Today was all about the at Juno, the actions of Hollis ,the at Gold & the engineering genius of the , some great food and then finishing discussing defense at Battery and remembrance at Commonwealth War Graves Commission . A fantastic second day in for our family group & the weather turned to! Stops at & the talking & in the morning, then a spot of lunch before hitting Sword beach & telling the stories of , & . All followed by a brilliant night out with some great food, great company and lots of laughs and discussion.

Bonjour ! A nice 5 mile stroll before breakfast and before we start the story of with our family group! The Airborne landings and sword beach today, with a few smaller stops inbetween! Weather a little overcast but heatwave and sun due! !

A fantastic first day in with our family group, started with a stop at the Bayeux Museum to see the famous , then it was dinner time & the best burger in Bayeux, which can only mean a trip to Oh La La - Bayeux! The day was finished with the stunning light show at Cathedral. Tomorrow the story begins!
