Couple of tweaks to the “Tardis”
Secondary air inlet for a more efficient burn, removable firebox fence and an optional larger top plate.

The naked one pictured was just about to have finishing touches and paint it has the new door, the painted one is one that left the workshop a little while back and then there’s an older “standard” “Tardis” in the last pic for comparison 😁

The photos always make these look smaller and a little skinnier than they are in the flesh, footprint is 225x250mm and 600mm tall not including the 4” flue outlet.

£275 plus p&p as standard (small top plate and one air inlet, £295 plus p&p for the larger top plate and secondary air inlet.

Phatt Twiggy xl-nope

Phatt MF Twiggy! 🤣🤣 (interpret that however you like 🤣🤔🧐)

Compact, robust lumpy little so n so.
4,6 and 10mm steel
4” flue outlet
10mm thick Cnc cut fire grate
300mm square
Roughly 600mm tall to the top plate
46kg of kick ass.
£395 plus p&p
Built on request, enquire for pre orders.
A new favourite for me 😁

Yes they are 10mm spanners (they’re welded in place, so no you can’t use them) 😜😁🤣

👋👋Well hello there!!

So it’s gradually getting chillier out there….
I’m finishing up a couple of jobs for existing customers but I’ll be putting a few new stoves together in the very near future.

My process for ordering etc is going to be a little different and eventually I’ll be concentrating on a handful of “standard” models rather than lots of overly custom orders.

The main ones will likely be “Twiggy” (of course, too many people love that little burner 😁)
“Tardis” and a slight evolution of this design pictured here 😁😁

Good evening ladies and gents.

So the results of the little giveaway….

It’s a was a tie!….. there was no one on exactly the right number but there are two people just one out and both had the same guess.
However as per the rules the winner could only be someone who had “liked” our page and only one of those two people had.
So the answer was that it took 133 separate parts to build the custom burner.
The closest person at one number under who had fulfilled the entry requirements was Chris Hoxey, Congratulations Chris! 😁😁🔥🔥

Please be aware there were several fake “Metal Dimensions” pages trying to harvest credit card details yesterday, I have deleted all fake messages and reported the pages, I will be talking to the police this morning.

Please don’t follow ANY links to any outside pages at all, the draw for the competition will not be announced until the end of the month.
Metal Dimensions will NEVER ask for credit card details in connection to any competition, at the moment we do NOT take credit card payments at all, you can only pay using a credit card via PayPal at this time.

I will deactivate the genuine Metal Dimensions page again on a temporary basis later this morning until the fake pages are removed to try and stop any further damage while we wait for Facebook to actually respond.

If anyone has handed over any credit card information please contact your card issuer and the police

🔥🔥Well I think it’s a time for a competition 😁🔥🔥

The prize:
One of our gorgeous little “Twiggy” wood burners !!
Ideal for smaller spaces at 60cm tall and wide and deep.
Perfect for that cozy small space, boats, camper conversions, shepherd huts or even camping to name a few.

Rules are dead easy:
Answer the question and like our page to enter.

The question:
How many separate parts did it take to make this most recent custom commission? 😁(including each separated piece of steel prior to welding, bolts, washers etc)

Please please please only answer the question in the comment thread on this original post, not the comment thread on any shared post as we can rarely see comments on shared posts due to privacy settings, due to this we can only accept entries on this original thread🙂

🔥🔥Good luck!! 😁🔥🔥

The winner will be announced on the last day of February 😁

(The winner will be the person closest to the correct answer, if that person has not “liked” our page on FB it will roll down to the next nearest answer and so on.
In the event of multiple correct or multiple closest answers we will draw straws on a video clip and think up a runners up prize or two)

(If the winner happens to be already in the order book for a Twiggy they will not need to pay for their burner😁)

Well I’m still in the workshop this evening so no more pics of the one off commission stove until I can edit/tidy my photography up a little, probably next weekend now….
But here’s some of one of the Twiggy evolution-vertical range/cook stoves “Little Redwood” that has gone out this week 😁😁
(The oven door does get a seal but I ran out temporarily (a shelf and oven tray too))

When the page is quiet it often means I’m busy in the workshop and my head.
Lots of stoves gone out and still going out in recent weeks, I’ll get some pics up very soon.
For now here’s a little tease of one of the recent projects, without doubt one of my favourite builds to date, better pics (hopefully better, I’m the “cameraman” 🤦🏻🤣) coming this weekend 😁

Possibly a little sad but true?….
This is and has been my favourite bit of metal for quite a long time.

Mostly because of how I came to have it.
I came home one day to find it sat on my front door step, it’s exactly the sort of thing I’d love but I have never found out who put it there.

It’s an unfinished wheel spinner/hub nut from a very old Alfa Romeo.
It may be an original (less likely) or an unfinished reproduction but either way a nice bit of randomness to sit on the shelf and to be honest it couldn’t matter much less to me which it is.
I’ve had it about eighteen years without ever solving either mystery 😁🤷🏻‍♂️

Time for a clean up and pop it back on the wall after sitting in box for a bit too long 😁

Busy busy busy….but found a moment to trial the “seasoning” of one of the back burner projects between burners going out.
Happy with the first assault, plenty of room to improve though, it’s setting rock hard with no stickiness and loving the golden colour but I can definitely get it a bit deeper with the right temps.

Build wise this is just a working prototype, there are necessary tweaks to get the finish I want.
It’ll be a different beast build quality wise when saleable but “el Torro Diablo” is almost up for the first cook, (I’ve been looking forward to this one 🤞)

This was one heavy duty project, an existing smoker sent in for modifying to the customers specs and designs, it now has 50mm of insulation around the firebox, 8mm thick folding stack, huge charcoal snake basket, an interesting charcoal basket with grill and plancha set up.

The entire concept was sent over as a nice accurate 3D CAD model for me to then build, all 800kg or so of it! 🔥🔥😁

I’ve nicknamed this one “Frankensmoker”

Sat having a break and this is my view.

Basically a fully manufactured smoker (by someone else) that a customer brought in for a few mods, all to their spec and design……

up to this point the only thing that’s not been chopped and altered, re-made or heavily modified is the two legs and the cartwheel spokes (though I’d like to cut the cartwheels up and start again🤣 and the legs didn’t have wheels on before😁)

Fully insulated firebox, 8mm thick plate everywhere, it’s a beast!

Not quite done yet, we’ll have some more pics of the finished thing in the next few days 😁

Day out for Twiggy, Tardis and Little Yew 😁🔥🔥
