Mallards Pike - Only a 10 minute drive from Rose Hideaway, or a lovely one hour walk through the Forest.
This lake is named not after the many ducks you'll find here, but after Mr Mallard who used to run the toll house (or 'Pike house') back in the day. This is one of the more accessible lakes in the Forest, suitable for all ages and abilities with a path that follows all the way around. And with the cafΓ© you can finish off with a coffee and a cake π
For the more adventurous, there is a Go Ape here as well (an adult one, there is a child friendly one at nearby Beechenhurst). Or you can join the Family Cycle Path from here, or just simple wander the many woodland paths that branch off. Possibilities are endless.
