Junkanoo is now happening on Fridays 10am to 11am at St Barbe's Museum on New Street, Lymington. This week we were journeying by train, playing instruments, dancing and chuffing through the galleries. If you would like to join in the fun, just book your place by ringing 01590 676969. Entry is by donation if you wish. This is a fun musical group for families with babies and preschool children to come together, play and explore.

At last - Junkanoo fun is back! Come and join the jollity at St Barbe's Museum on Fridays at 10am with singing, dancing, playing instruments, exploring countries through music and sensory play. This weekly class starts April 29th and is sponsored by the museum so must be booked through St Barbe's on 01590 676969 to attend. There is no charge but a voluntary contribution if you wish.

For all fans of Junkanoo - I am dipping my toe in the water and doing some music and storytelling this Sunday September 12th at the LYMINGTON RESERVE OPEN DAY from 11am to 4pm. It is a free event about wildlife with some guided walks, bird ringing - see live birds in the hand, free play on the tractor and boat, moth trap - see live moths close up, teas and ice creams. Pop along and bring a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors

Exbury Gardens is remaining open. Reduced price £8 per adult £3 per child. Colours beautiful. Take away food and coffees. Surprisingly a few plants blooming, Camelias in full flower and some rhododendron in the winter garden. My mum loved it. Felt like a real escape. Find a new bit of Forest...this is the Avon Water, perfect spot for exploring. Park at Boundway Car Park, Mead End, Sway and head downhill to the lawns by the stream. Glorious picnic spot and there's a swing over the shallows. Beautiful Demoiselles, Spearwort, Foxgloves...saw fawns, foals and Highland Cattle

THE GREAT FISH RACE - this is a really fun game to play in or outdoors. Get some thin lightweight paper and decorate it with coloured tissue, chocolate wrappers, old wrapping paper or pens. Everyone makes a fish. Line up with your fish on the floor or lawn or patio. Each racer needs a book and a fish. Ready steady go! Flap your fish as hard as you can, race your parents and siblings to win!
