A hearty breakfast awaits you at the Lighthouse after a brisk walk along the sea front!

We enjoyed the chorizo hash and the smashed avocado and poached egg on toast 😋

More hand-picked restaurants for you to try when you come and stay at Meadow Cott in Milford-on-Sea.

It’s such a chore having to eat out at all of these lovely places so that we can recommend them to you but we will keep making the sacrifice! 😅

Wonderful dinner at The Cliff House in Barton-on-Sea .Barton is the next village along from Milford - approx 10 mins drive. Cliff House has a stunning location on the cliff top with amazing sea views. Can’t wait to visit again and enjoy (sorry I mean test!) the outdoor garden seating!

Pictured is my delicious Crab, prawn and chorizo linguine and Joe’s (burger connoisseur) chipotle chicken burger.

Wet and grey but still beautiful

Ditch the car and just walk out from your door- We just love this walk from Meadow Cott along the sea wall at Keyhaven.

A warm doggy shower (yes we have an outdoor mixer tap- perfect to rinse off a muddy pooch!) and a hot chocolate when you get back to your home-from-home 🥰

With so many outdoor activities on your doorstep we don’t think you’ll have any trouble keeping the family (two-legged and four-legged!) occupied at Meadow Cott.

Afternoon tea at the staggeringly beautiful . Perfect for a special occasion 🎂A very indulgent treat and friendly service followed by a wander around the beautiful grounds set against a backdrop of the New Forest.

Our favourite was the goats cheese and red onion quiche - the pastry was to die for! ⁣⁣⁣

Hurst Castle and the lighthouse at the end of Hurst Spit is a brisk 2 mile walk from our front door.

Built by Henry VIII, Hurst Castle was one of the most advanced artillery fortresses in England. Commanding the narrow entrance to the Solent, it offers stunning panoramic views.

The castle was used as a prison for eminent 17th century captives, including Charles I. It was later strengthened during the 19th and 20th centuries and played a role in defending the western Solent from invasion threats from the Napoleonic Wars to the Second World War.

Festive menu just off the village green in did not disappoint! ⁣
Highlights were the deep fried Assiago cheese with piccante sauce and the warm panettone with Cointreau syrup and mascarpone. ⁣

Awesome light lunch . Just a 10-minute stroll from the front door at Meadow Cott in the picturesque harbour village of Keyhaven.

The pastrami steak was simply stunning- packed full of flavour and seasoned to perfection. The tempura plaice is a familiar favourite with its light and crispy batter and sweet chilli sauce that packs a punch. Topped off with a side order of fries with lovely dab of flavour from the truffle oil. 😋

You must try this place when you visit- the perfect stop off after a nice long walk along the marshes 🥰⁣⁣⁣

Delicious meal .. particularly enjoyed the Seafood and Chorizo stew.. a hearty meal after long walks on the beach!

The Lighthouse is just a short walk from Meadow Cott so leave the car back at base and try one of their amazing cocktails!

Staff are so friendly and the location is perfect- right on the seafront ☀️⁣⁣⁣

Hanging out with the locals!

Did you know that all of the ponies found in the New Forest are wild in the sense they can roam freely but in fact they are owned by New Forest Commoners.

The commoners have the right to graze their ponies and cattle on the open forest throughout the year. It is the animals’ grazing which helps to maintain the beautiful New Forest landscape.

Why not book yourself a New Forest escape in 2022? We can pretty much guarantee it will be the start of a love affair with this stunning part of the country. There is just so much to discover!
