Finding the Green Man of Wiltshire was our guided ride with Dahlia and Dean.
A 27 mile loop around the rolling North Wessex Downs and through small chocolate box villages on this muddy winter’s day. Riding off the Downs, the route took us on to the Kennet and Avon Canal where there was lock gate to sit on for lunch.
Leaving the canal behind and finding a muddy trail to find the Green Man; ride too fast and you will miss him..! This Green Man is a replica of the Bamberg Green Man and is carved into the cut end of a lopped branch of a living oak tree above our heads.
Riding back we stopped to watch Red kites hunting for food.

Over 300 riders took part in Ride to Remember on Saturday which was organised by Trail Break This was a fund raising event for the annual Poppy Appeal in association with Royal British Legion. Ramsbury Brewery near Marlborough was the start of our 43km route with 600 meters of climbing over the Wiltshire Downs. At the finish line, a choice of homemade cake from the British Legion stall or a cheeky beer from the brewery bar .... tough choice ! Looking forward to the next one !
