Some of my humans like watching the round ball on the telly (not Mistress - she was confused as to why Ashley Cole wasn’t playing).

I don’t mind this because I quite like watching humans watch the round ball on the telly. The gasps, the screams, the claps… more evidence that humans are very weird animals.

It seems that wonkies are like London buses - you wait months and then three turn up at once!

Wonkies are relatively uncommon in our little corner of the New Forest, so this was a massive treat for myself and Mistress. 🫏

It’s very hard work being a farm dog.

Whilst most people are relaxing with a G&T in the sun, I’m doing my rounds checking on all the New Forest animals 🐷 🐑 🐴 🫏.

It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it. Fortunately I’m well compensated with dentastix and tummy tickles!

Today Mistress, Jenny and I cycled to the ice cream shop. I love cycling because when you go down hills it feels like sticking your head out the car window.

They were pretty slow going up the hills though… I must work them harder next time! 💨

Some kind fairies left a few bridges in the woods to help me keep my paws dry and not make a mess of mistress’ carpet 🧚‍♀️.

Such a peaceful day with a gentle sunshine. How lucky we are to go on walks together on days like this ☀️🌳.

Norbert and I escorted Mistress and Auntie Steph across the common to the Rockingham Arms last night - they enjoyed the fish platter (luckily we did too as Auntie Steph has no discipline around feeding us when Mistress isn’t looking!) 😋

I cannot believe it is raining AGAIN!

Luckily, mistress and I have still been able to spot some new life on our walks.

We saw some cute, little lambs bouncing around the field and this little fella who we think was fresh out of Mum’s tummy last night

At least the days are getting longer so I have more time to look at the rain out of the window…

Happy Birthday to Me! 🎂 🎉 🦴

Would you believe that I am 13 years old today? A teenager! I don’t think I’ve changed a bit.

Mistress thinks that I have matured over the years but I try and find a small thing to do each day to prove her wrong.

Last night she had to come outside in her slippers and prise me away from the muck heap as it was past both of our bedtimes 😈.

Don’t worry Mistress - I’m just keeping us both young.

Today I am missing my friend, Brian.

He has been off at carriage driving boarding school for a couple of months now. I am hearing from Mistress’ phone calls with his teacher that he is actually doing quite well. I am amazed as he’s always seemed so lazy - as you can see from this picture!

The only time Brian really seems to put his mind to something is when he is chasing me around the field. I see myself as his personal trainer - I mean, have you seen that belly?!

Don’t tell Mistress, but secretly I can’t wait to have him home 🐶❤️🐴.

Took Mistress on a wellbeing walk today as she’s a bit stressed. I let her take off at her normal brisk pace whilst I dawdled along, stopping to sniff all the interesting smells. Eventually she has to stop and wait for me to catch up and that gives her time to look about a bit - then she spots interesting things for herself- her first bee of Spring working to collect pollen from some crocuses, the last berry on a holly bush, a blackbird taking a bath in a puddle - ok, she was a bit slow with the camera to catch that one! She also saw 4 magpies flitting about together in the trees and two c**k pheasants facing off - just reminding her that slowing down has its own merits 🙂.
