Collect driftwood and other branches from the beach or woodland or even from the gardens at Moor and Sea and enjoy a welcome drink after your first day on Friday. We will treat you to a warm glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate whilst we do the charcoal burn. Your charcoal will be ready the following morning to use on Saturday and Sunday 😊

An inspirational three day course in this versatile and expressive medium
Set at Moor and Sea Holidays in North Devon surrounded by beautiful landscape

Across three days you will be learning how to use sketchbooks to explore and record the landscape with the versatile medium of charcoal.
We will gather natural forms and take simple and quick photographs of the beautiful surrounding landscape, bringing these back to the studio to work from.
You will experiment with the different forms of charcoal, erasers, drawing cloths, and brushes and learn about how to develop your ideas in a sequence.
You will also have an opportunity to make charcoal experiencing how different materials form charcoal with different characteristics 😊
