So many stunning churches and interesting architecture to see in Lytham and St Anne’s! Sykes Holiday Cottages

One of the most recognised and admired buildings on the Lancashire coast - the Grade II listed Fairhaven United Reformed Church widely referred to as 'The White Church'.
The founding elders wanted something 'distinctive' so Byzantine-like architecture and white Ceramo blocks were chosen. Completed in 1912, it has an interior designed in the shape of the Greek cross and beautiful stained glass panels.

I love this innovative use of Christmas trees! It is very odd to see the tide so far in, usually Lytham and St Annes enjoy expanses of sand. Something new every time!

It's easy to forget just how far the beach stretches in St Annes on Sea - right up to Starr Gate at Blackpool in fact.
It's especially important to know if you have a four-legged companion, as North Beach is dog-friendly year-round.

Love these necklaces!

We always have a little hunt on the beach for interesting sticks, stones, shells and bits of glass.

Cleveleys just a bit further along the coast tends to have the most treasures, but sharp eyes can spot all sorts of intriguing items in Lytham, St Anne’s and Blackpool too.

Love exhibitions like this! A brilliant way to raise awareness and funds and having them scattered around makes walking with little ones so much easier. Frankly they’re fun for grown ups too!

So lovely to get out and about and see that Spring has well and truly sprung at Lowther Gardens. Just five mins from Yewdale’s front door there’s so much to enjoy: playground, theatre, cafe, bowling, Bobby Ball, Padel tennis, koi carp in the pond - and the ultimate souvenir if you adopt yourself a tree before you leave!

We tried Spago Lytham St Annes for the first time yesterday…oh my goodness it was amazing. The Sunday roast and pizza were gobbled so fast we didn’t even have time to take a picture (a great deal on for two roasts, bottle of wine, two kids meals - £40, though with drinks, extra child, pudding and service it came to £102).

The roasts were quite frankly perfect. Roasties, delicious meat (beef or lamb), all the condiments, lush Yorkshire pud, tasty gravy, carrots and cauliflower cheese. Pizzas were given the thumbs up, and children loved the chicken breast and chips too.

My Malibu crème brûlée was delicately creamy and set off with a tangy jam and the brownie was described as ‘best ever tasted’. With deals every day including 10% off for Yewdale guests, this restaurant is a must visit! Sykes Holiday Cottages

Fab time at the inaugural ice sculpture exhibition at The Mussel tank just five mins from our front door, and then a hop and a skip to see the gorgeous snowdrops at Lytham Hall.

We are excited to announce that Blackpool’s annual Illuminations display will once again be extended by two months after another dramatic rise in visitor numbers over the winter months.

The Illuminations season will start on Friday 1 September and run until Monday 1 January, 2024 🎉

Strictly fans - get a load of this beauty! Just 20 minutes drive from Yewdale is the Blackpool Tower and all the glory of the gorgeous ballroom. You can even book an afternoon tea - and take a spin on the floor yourself.

It’s closed for maintenance until April 2023 so make sure you book ahead to be one of the first to enjoy it when it reopens.

While you’re in Blackpool you could also enjoy fab views from the top of the tower, check out loads of fun rides and shows, and eat delicious seaside foods to your heart’s content!
