This was the view from the gate this morning as Jane put the finishing touches to the cottage (and the breakfast in the fridge!) for our guests this weekend! It’s been a busy day at Waterfall Cottage, with guests leaving this morning after their 2 week stay, and more guests arriving this afternoon……..but cleaning with this view hasn’t been too bad at all!! Have a lovely weekend 🦆🌳☘️🌿🌸🌼🌤️☀️😃😃.

After some time prepping the cottage for some guests who are coming for a 2 week stay (remember it’s 30% discount for stays of a week or more 👍🏻😃) Scamp took Jane on a run up to Shining Tor and back - and what a day for it ☀️☀️☀️. 6 months on from opening and we are proud to say that we have been awarded Superhost status by Airbnb………we are over the moon 🥳🎉🥳🎉. We’ve been working hard towards achieving this and have been blown away by some of our guest’s reviews along the way 🥰. Providing both a space, and an experience, that guests enjoy has been an absolute pleasure - we now just need to keep up the hard work!!

After some very precious family time abroad 🥰we are back to business this week getting ready for guests arriving tomorrow. We threw open the doors of the summer house this morning whilst the sun ☀️ was shining………we hope our guests will soon be able to start using this lovely space, maybe relaxing with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, watching the duck 🦆 activity on the Mill Pond!! 🦋🌷💐🍄☘️🌳🌸🌼🌻🪴☀️

Waterfall Cottage Holiday’s mascot, Scamp, is beaming today 🐶🤣……..we’ve FINALLY had our application for an Electrical Vehicle Charging Point approved 🎉🎉🎉. Hopefully to be installed by the end of March. We hope this makes Waterfall Cottage more accessible, and more attractive, for people with electric vehicles 😃.

Jane has been over at Rainow today preparing for our next guests 👍🏻😃. Absolutely stunning day today at Waterfall Cottage ❄️☀️. We love how the frost has formed on the summerhouse (see final photo!) ❄️💙. Getting ready for some guests this Saturday……..extra logs for the fire 🔥 will be needed!!
We’re now fully booked for both Christmas and New Year - we are absolutely thrilled 👍🏻😃😃🎉.

We’ve been away the last week or so having some precious family time, and some much needed winter sun ☀️………it was a shock coming home to the cold so Jane just had to put the fire away whilst cleaning for more guests who are due soon!! She will not want to leave!

It was an absolutely stunning morning at Waterfall Cottage yesterday ☀️☀️☀️. Scamp and Jane were cleaning the cottage after our weekend guests……….getting everything glistening again for more guests this weekend! We just love spending time here 🥰.

We hosted our first guests on Thursday night 🥰 - it was a nervous time to say the least! We are absolutely overwhelmed by their feedback though, we needn’t have worried! They even called an hour after arriving saying they had fallen in love with the cottage and could they book an extra night 👍🏻😲😃😃!! They wrote this lovely review in our guestbook, and gave us an absolutely wonderful review on Air BnB. We are simply thrilled. I’m not sure we will ever match these reviews……..but we will keep on trying our best to!

Our main man, Scamp, had his birthday yesterday 🐶🥳, he turned 5!! He had a lovely walk at Lyme Park to celebrate, and lots of lovely treats of course!
Lyme Park is a beautiful National Trust property and is just a 20 minute drive from Waterfall Cottage. It has some great moorland areas for dog walking, and very very good coffee and cake ☕️🧁🍰😃😃😃!! Happy birthday Scamp!

We have some rather special guests staying at Waterfall Cottage tonight………ourselves 🤣!! We only live 15 minutes away but it’s a real tonic staying here, and feels like a proper escape 🥰. We’ve had an absolutely beautiful walk from the cottage and the table is already set for dinner 🍽 🥂🍷😃😃😃.

Jane and Scamp decided to get some wind in their ears today and went for a very blustery stomp up to Shining Tor. This is in the Goyt Valley………where we started our walk is just a 10 minute drive from Waterfall Cottage! We had a great time - the only thing that would have made it better is to have been going back to the cottage to wrap up in snuggly blankets in front of the wood burner 🪵🐿🌿🍂🍁🔥😃. Maybe another time Scamp!!

After a super family holiday we are back home and ready to push on with the final preparations for Waterfall Cottage 😃😃😃.
Current plan is to go live on Air B&B from 1 October 🥳🍁🍂🍄🌳🪵🥳. You will also be able to book directly through us - the details will be on our website (also coming 1 October!).
In the meantime we thought you may enjoy a preview of the cottage’s two bedrooms 🥰😃.
