Timings for 2025 Chinese Lunar New Year Celebrations - Sat 1st Feb

11am - drummers perform in Market Place
11:20 - dragon dancers appear
11:30 - parade of zodiac animals starts
12:00 - the parade finishes at the URC
from 12pm - In the URC there will be traditional Chinese musicians, samples of Chinese food, and crafts from Macclesfield Community ArtSpace . For younger families the Silk Museum will also be hosting some activities in their Blue Room

from 12:30pm - For older children (age 8/9+) and adults at the Silk Museum we’ll have:
- Tai Chi with Master Xianglin Lee in the Machine Gallery – 12:30pm and 1:30pm
- Traditional crafts with teachers from the Confucius Institute, Manchester:
Traditional Calligraphy in the classroom from 12:45
Traditional Papercutting in the upstairs gallery from 12:30.
