Let's be honest, visiting Southern Snowdonia isn't about lying on a beach in the sun. It's SO much better than that. Tranquillity prevails here both during the day, in the large, remote and rugged mountain ranges and forests; and at night, when the vast, awe-inspiring dark skies are revealed. Eryri provides the ultimate escape, a place to breathe and reset. Beautiful all year round, it isn't like anywhere else.

I don't speak Welsh so i don't know how true this phrase is. I do know that Welsh is one of the oldest spoken languages in the UK though.

Their love is pure, their loyalty unwavering, and their presence makes every day brighter. 🐾💛

This is a great place to visit around 35 mins from the cottage (please note for understandable reasons it's not dog friendly but the car park is big and shaded)
You don't get to see the beavers usually so wanted to share this as they are so cute!!
Lots more to see there though and a nice cafe.

October Cancellation alert! 📣📣
10-19th October, a week within those dates is just £670!!! Dogs stay free.
Sadly a guest has had to cancel their stay next month due to poorly dogs. We've been fully booked for October for ages so this is a great chance to grab a stay, it's a lovely season to be in the forest with the Autumn mists and changing colours plus of course the cosy cottage to come back to.

Yes our dog definitely has this attitude, luckily she can't see passers by from our house, and the same is true for the cottage. Not that there are many passers by anyway 😍

Elan Valley Lakes, just over an hour from the cottage. Amazing, awe inspiring place especially at this time of year when the dams are in full flow. It's the rain that makes this happen, so we mustn't complain about the rain 😉

It's Christmas Eve! And what could be better than a snippet of Welsh male voice choir I recorded at a Christmas Fair recently at Coaltown Coffee Roasters which by the way is amazing coffee and I may well look into supplying that in our welcome pack 💞

A video to show off the cottage grounds, however it was ever so windy so apologies. Will have to film again on a stiller day 😂 Hopefully it gives a good idea of the setting anyway. This land is all part of Hendre Ddu Cottage, you don't share with anyone else.

RAW FEEDERS!! OK a photo of a freezer isn't the most exciting post you're going to see today 😂 Lots of people now feed raw food to their dogs, including me! It can be tricky when you go away as many holiday properties only have a small ammount of freezer space. A few people this year have asked about freezer space and ours wasn't bad but now it's even better with this beauty! This was given to me by my dad (yes, a family heirloom) but I've now got a chest freezer so I've moved it to the cottage and it is available to all you raw feeders to use.
