Good afternoon all! We are now listed on Reactive Dog Holidays. This is a great new site for owners of reactive dogs which lists both holiday accommodation and secure fields with useful filters like fence height etc. Please visit and have a look around the site, many people have been asking for something like this for a very long time!!

Everything Rye and Roses make is delicious and these sound especially good.
Machynlleth, the place to get these, is a lovely little market town 25 minutes from our cottage.

Sharing this in case someone fancies learning a new skill maybe combined with a little break!
I know Neil and he's a great teacher and all round lovely person. The venue is 30 mins from the cottage and very scenic.

At Hendre Ddu cottage we do not mind if you have a shedding or non-shedding breed. You never need to apologise for dog hair. We have plenty of experience with floofs and have robust cleaning regimes at our changeovers which include
Removing and washing sofa throws
Silicone brush over all soft furnishings
Powerful vacuum over all rugs and floors
All hard floors floors mopped
All surfaces cleaned with microfibre cloths that catch hairs.
We love to welcome you and your dogs 😍

I don't mind the cold, but I do get annoyed by how little light there is so, hurray!!

A Happy Winter Solstice to one and all.

From today we gain 2 minutes of extra light a day and by the middle of February that becomes 3 minutes and very soon nature starts to wake up for Spring.

This pub is just off the A470 heading towards Dolgellau. It's a little further than our other three local pubs, around 15/20 minutes drive. But it's kind of my favourite, I've always found the staff friendly, great service and food. And with many pubs throughout the UK operating reduced hours, this one always seems to be open 🙂

I've not tried this local coffee shop yet (don't worry it's on the list) but I can vouch for this fudge which is gorgeous. There are not many calf at foot dairies around, and the people at Dyfi Dairy are just so lovely.
This is just one example of the amazing local produce to be had in the Dyfi Valley. It's a great place for presents and guess what we have availability up to the 27th!!

Is it about that time of year when it's illegal not to put Bailey's in everything? We think so, and seem to agree 🍬🥃
We have VERY LIMITED numbers of these bags of Bailey's Fudge from the incredible Dyfi Dairy - local, ethical, calf at foot, utterly delicious 😋
