In equipping The Old Forge Holiday Cottage we have chosen high quality furnishings and fixtures and we have tried to provide everything you will need to have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. If there is something we haven’t considered please let us know! The Old Forge Holiday cottage has been awarded a Four Star Rating from Visit Britain. Situated in The Great Wold Valley alongside The Gypsey Race and overlooking an area of outstanding natural beauty, the cottage is ideally situated as a base for visiting the Yorkshire Wolds, The Yorkshire Coast, the North Yorkshire Moors and the City of York all of which are within 30 miles. West Lutton is a picturesque village situated between the bustling market towns of Malton and Driffield. The views from The Old Forge of St Mary’s Church are second to none and The Three Tuns Inn is just 2 minutes walk away. Just a couple of miles away in Weaverthorpe both The Blue Bell and The Star Inn offer excellent dining, as does The Triton Inn at Sledmere. Still Yorkshires best kept secret The Yorkshire Wolds are a range of low rolling hills which rise from the River Humber at Hessle and run in a crescent shape through stunning countryside to the dramatic cliffs at Flamborough Head and Bempton north of Bridlington. The gentle hills make it an ideal area for both walking and cycling. The area is unspoilt and rich in history and there are many historic buildings and churches to visit. The chalk grassland of The Yorkshire Wolds is a rare habitat in Britain and is haven for wildlife. The Yorkshire Coast towns of Bridlington, Filey, & Scarborough are all less than 20 miles away, each offering different experiences for those of you who enjoy a day out at the Seaside. Do not miss a day out in the maritime town of Whitby the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula and now home to the annual Gothic Weekend.
