With stunning countryside views, we are ideally situated for touring York and the East Coast, the North Yorkshire Moors, and the Yorkshire Wolds. . There are 2 pubs serving food, a fish and chip shop, a village store and butchers just 10 minutes walk away. The cottage has one double bedroom and a second bedroom with a single and a pull-out bed. We offer a modern shower room, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable corner sofa, dining table, internet TV and wifi. There's also access to a washing machine and a small freezer. Minimum stay 3 nights. Hello to all our lovely guests!
If you are planning to stay with us this year, please note that I have opened up my calendar until May, and will be setting the dates for next summer shortly. Please give me a call if you need to book before I get around to this. Just a reminder that platforms like Airbnb charge about 15% plus VAT on all bookings, so you will save money by going direct to the owner.

Summer has been a bit unpredictable this year but the beautiful sunsets we've had recently are worth the rainy days. Our next availability in Rose Cottage is October but we do have midweek availability in our shepherd's hut Pheasant's Roost Shepherd's Hut which sleeps 2, and 2 dogs.

We have had some crisp, wintry mornings recently, and the sun has been shining. Yorkshire is always beautiful, but snow does make it look even more spectacular, don't you think?
Rose Cottage is closed from New Year, but will reopen on 9th Feb. If you are thinking of booking please remember to - prices are lower as you don't have to pay the booking fees or commision to online travel agents. Our holiday cottage sleeps 4, and 2 dogs are welcome in each property. The hot tub is also available to book. We look forward to welcoming you in 2024.

Jodie, our 13 year old dog, still enjoys her morning stroll down the lane, followed by a paddle in the beck. We have lots of off-road walks almost from our door.

We know money is tighter this year, so to help you budget, we can also offer instalments. Just drop us a message with your booking reference and the amount you'd like to pay, and we can send you a payment link. The balance is due a month before. We hope this helps a little :)

Some of our guests visited Helmsley recently. I hadn't been for ages, so I took a little trip with my daughter in law. Wow! The flower displays are really gorgeous, adding to the beauty of this market town.

If you've stayed with us before you'll probably remember that we recommended a trip to Hunmanby Gap. We haven't been ourselves for ages. On a beautiful Sunday at the end of May there was still so much space to enjoy. We popped into the cabin at the top of the cliff for a quick coffee too. Still one our favourite places to visit 🌞
