🌟🦌 Say hello to Aadan, the newest resident at Flamingo Land Zoo! 🦌🌟
Kirk's Dik-Dik are a tiny and adorable antelope. Because of its small size, this animal is vulnerable to many predators. Their only defense is their speed. They can run up to 26mph! Also, they run in a zig-zagging pattern to try to escape. If a predator is not able to mimic this zig-zagging pattern, it can give this small antelope the seconds it needs to get away.! 🐾💛

Kirk’s dik-diks are small, graceful creatures with a unique coat:
✨ Yellowish-gray to reddish-brown on their back.
✨ Grayish-white on their belly.
Males have small, ringed horns cleverly hidden under a tuft of hair on their forehead—can you spot if Aadan is a male or female? 👀✨
📍 Where’s Aadan from?
Aadan was born at Marwell and is now settling in with Dough, a female dik-dik born right here at Flamingo Land in October 2023! 🍼💞 They’re currently in quarantine together, getting ready for their big debut.
