Within a 10 minute drive from the house is British Camp, regarded by many as the most spectacular Iron Age fort in the world.

The hillfort was built at the peak of the Herefordshire Beacon, with expansive views of the surrounding countryside. Four phases of prehistoric building have been identified at British Camp, with construction of the hillfort taking place at different points in the 1st millennium BC.

According to English Heritage, the ramparts, still so distinctive in the hill's silhouette, were probably dug using a tool like a pick made from an antler! That's a lot of work without much in the way of tools!
