St Patrick’s Day is less than a week away! So here are best Irish bars in Manchester, some new additions to go along with the classic locations ☘️

is an honorary post, as it’s not an Irish bar, but they do REALLY good Guinness! It’s also only £4 per pint during happy hours! Mon-Fri, 4-8 🍺

is also an honorary mention as it is not an Irish pub either, but it is the last remnant of Little Ireland in Manchester 🇮🇪

closed unexpectedly last month, with them posting on their story it had something to do with the landlord. Although it seems they will no longer be working out of their well known usual spot on Reyner St, they’ve said they’re available for delivery, working from a ‘dark kitchen’.

So if you’re craving their famous sandwiches, you can have them delivered via Uber Eats 🥪❤️

With it being National Pet Day, we thought you’d enjoy this bit of Manchester history! 🐝

If you walk along Thomas St, you’ll surely pass John St. Remember, where a car would have to reverse back because it led to a bike lane. Well, if you ignore that lunacy and look up, then you’ll see several ceramic exotic birds.

You may not know it, but back in the Victorian era, the Northern Quarter used to be thriving with entertainment and shops of all kind, including pet shops. Almost every pet shop had exotic animals in them, which would draw in large crowds to see them and the atmosphere of the community. Regularly, the shops exotic birds would fly away and nest in nearby areas and perch on windowsills and fire escapes, hence the sculptures. They were created to remind us of the amazing history of the Northern Quarter 🦜
