Cooking is my other passion and I love sharing the experience with my family and friends.
I try to surprise my guests and this time I decided to make them cook as well.
We had such a lovely day, full of joy and laughter. The meal was delicious and we even had some more Pelemeni frozen for a few days following our Russian cooking experience.
Enjoy the video as it shows step by step easy Pelemeni preparation and cooking.

To feed 4 people you will need:

For the dough:
150 ml of milk
1/2 tsp of salt
1 egg
285 gr of plain flour

For the filling:
200 gr of Beef
200 gr of Pork
1 thick slice of bread
soaked in milk
1 large onion
Salo or bacon
Salt and Pepper

Acquiring some basic building skills back in Russia, prior and during Perestroika, I try small projects myself before calling a professional helper.

I learnt a lot of different skills from people surrounding me at home and work. It is aways nice when someone can help you out but if you are short of help, fixing or building it yourself was never a problem for me.

Her research showed that pets especially help older people to cope better and by providing unconditional love and non-judgemental support pets can reduce stress and anxiety.

Introduction to Russian cuisine...

This is my favourite cake, it takes TIME to make it but the result is impressive and moreish. It was my first time experience with this cake and I found that it needs to absorb the moisture from the cream and tastes better in 24 hours.

In the difficult times like we are experiencing at the moment, it is important to stay positive and look after your own mental health. Everyone will have their own way of dealing with stress, isolation and loneliness. I personally need a project which makes me busy and my brain occupied.

Growing up in Russia and going through Perestroika period have made the current situation much easier to cope for me.

In those time, everyone was expected to work hard for what they wanted in live, especially after WWII. Because we lost so many men, women became the main breadwinners, bringing up children, supporting their families financially, working and studying.

I've learnt a lot during my youth years from adults surrounding me, and I constantly use those skills to save money. I experiment with new ideas and even move from country to country.

Many Orthodox Christians around the world and in the UK celebrate Holy Pascha today, 19th April 2020.

Easter is the most important event in the church calendar. Many churches hold night liturgies on Holy Saturday at midnight. Lots of people would normally attend the mass but this year due to lockdown this wasn't possible.

Easter meal is popular activity on Easter Day. Many Russian Orthodox Christians living in the UK eat blessed by the priest food including special easter bread, Kulich on Easter Sunday.

Another Orthodox Easter tradition is to decorate Easter eggs by hand. The most commonly used color is red, signifying Jesus Christ’s blood. Easter meals often start with knocking and breaking painted eggs, as well as announcing “Christ is risen”. The person who breaks the most eggs that belong to others is considered the winner.

Russian Easter Bread

This bread is special. We only bake it for easter and it's called Kulich.
It has to be a special shape and we decorate it with icing. But the texture of the bread is lovely, light and sweat. It will great with butter and some jam .

Yo will need:

300 ml milk
7-8 gr dry east
750-800 gr flour
3 eggs
100 gr of sugar
150gr butter
250 gr creme fresh
100gr rasin
100ml cognac
