Coffee is such a part of the daily activities of many people that it sometimes can simply be overlooked.

The term “caffe latte” literally translates to mean “coffee with milk” in Italian, but this beloved and popular drink is far more than that!

The introduction of espresso in the early 1900s was obviously an important contribution to the latte drinks of today, forming their foundation. Then, with automated options for steaming milk, the latte really came into its own.

In modern times, the cafe latte (now just shortened to “latte”) seems to have been around since the 1950s, with an introduction claimed by a coffee shop in Berkeley, California. But the latte didn’t really become popular until the late 1980s and early 1990s when it hit the mainstream. This was through the second wave of coffee shops that took off in the United States, with specialty coffee shops like Starbucks, Peet’s and Caribou that were responsible for bringing forward a new way to enjoy coffee.

Today, the latte is arguably the most popular milk-based coffee beverage in the US and in many other places around the world as well. And now, is here to celebrate the delectable, delightful joy that comes from this amazing little coffee drink!

National Pizza Day is the perfect time to get that pizza eating game on!

A whole day – 24 happy and delicious hours – devoted especially to celebrating that yummy carb that almost no one can do without. From the humble beginning of sauce on flatbread to today’s gourmet offerings, pizza has captured the hearts and stomachs of people from all around the globe.

Pizza is a dish that originated in Naples, Italy and is still served there to this day. However, pizza recipes differ based on region and some American pizzas, especially Chicago deep dish, barely resembles the original Italian versions.

FUN FACT:
The most expensive pizza in the world will cost a massive $12,000 to order. This is a pizza that is sold in Italy, made by Renato Viola and just the dough takes 72 hours to make. It features some of the most lavish ingredients (as would be expected for that price tag), such as grains of pink Australian sea-salt from the Murray River, lobster from Norway, and even three different types of caviar.

One of the many things we love about Manchester is the diversity in food, and the variety of pizza here certainly does not disappoint!

Games Day is a gaming convention that takes place every year, with Games Workshop sponsoring the event. It has been running since 1975! Although the convention itself takes place in Birmingham, UK, this does not mean you cannot get involved if you live elsewhere. After all, the best way to honour Games Day is by playing some games, right? 😁
This is something that we all enjoy, no matter of our culture or where we live, and so really is a day that brings us all together. 👌

The very first of these soon to become extremely popular events took place in London on December 20, 1975. In a very short period of time, these events really took the UK’s gaming community by storm and brought many people together, which did a great deal to build up the nation’s gaming scene. 👍

Lager 🍺 is one of mankind’s oldest fermented beverages that is combined with a long, slow maturation process in the cold. is the perfect time to enjoy this delicious blonde drink and to learn a little bit about the interesting history that sets it apart.

Brewed using bottom-fermenting yeast, this beer would then be transported to places where the temperature remained low, first in cellars, and then moved to the dark caves of the mountainous Alps 🗻. Deep within the frozen cellars of the Earth 🌎, this beer would be packed on ice 🧊 harvested from the mountains or lakes and left to “lager” over the summer.

This process of brewing and storing allowed all of the sediments and yeast to settle to the bottom of the beer, leaving only a clear, crisp golden liquid that had a purity of taste that was unmatched anywhere else at the time!
