Why Train at my Gym??
This is a analogy?

Think of two cars as bodybuilders driving down two different roads towards the same destination.

The first car is driving on a bumpy road with lots of potholes, tyres cut up. The journey is rough, damaging, and in efficient, and the car gets beat up and dented along the way. But eventually after a long and difficult journey the car arrives at its destination.

The second car is driving on a smooth road with no obstacles or debris The journey is effortless and efficient, and the car arrives at its destination in pristine condition.

it’s up to us to choose which road to take!!

Road 1) spend all your hard earned money at the physio, doctors, hospitals, surgery, time off work.

Or

Road 2) Smooth, efficient, With no damage period plus a bang for your buck eg: Value for money,

Which one will You Choose??

Anxiety is the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2023.

Anxiety is a normal emotion in us all, but sometimes it can get out of control and become a mental health problem.

Gym training can be an effective tool for managing anxiety.

Regular exercise has been shown to have numerous mental health benefits, including reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Here are some tips for using gym training to help alleviate anxiety:

Choose the right exercises:
Engage in activities that you enjoy and find fulfilling. This can include cardio exercises like running, cycling, as well as strength training with weights or using resistance machines. Experiment with different types of exercises to find what works best for you.

Establish a routine:
Consistency is key when it comes to managing anxiety with exercise. Set aside specific times for your gym sessions and make them a regular part of your weekly schedule. Having a routine can provide structure and a sense of control, which can be beneficial for anxiety management.

Focus on mindfulness:
Pay attention to your body and mind during your workouts. Practice mindfulness by bringing your attention to the present moment, observing your thoughts and feelings without judgment. This can help you stay grounded and reduce anxiety while exercising.

Incorporate relaxation techniques:
After your workout, include some relaxation techniques to further alleviate anxiety. This can include stretching, deep breathing exercises, or even meditation. These activities can help calm your nervous system and promote a sense of relaxation and well-being.

Seek support if needed:
Consider working with a personal trainer or seeking guidance from a fitness professional who has experience working with individuals dealing with anxiety. They can help design a workout program tailored to your needs and provide guidance and support along the way.

Start gradually:
If you're new to exercise or have concerns about overexertion, start with low-intensity workouts and gradually increase the intensity and duration over time. Pushing yourself too hard can actually increase anxiety, so listen to your body and progress at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Utilize gym resources:
At the gym we offer additional resources beyond equipment, such as a fitness room with a big screen TV so you can practice yoga or meditation classes. These activities can complement your gym training and provide additional tools for managing anxiety.

Remember, while gym training can be helpful, it's also essential to take a holistic approach to managing anxiety. Incorporate other self-care practices into your routine, such as maintaining a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and seeking support from mental health professionals if needed.

Another great testimonial from one of our gym members we really appreciate your feedback.

"I Joined Brian Goddards gym just over a year ago now, when I first met Brian he was giving it all the talk of this new way of training which is superior to the traditional methods. At first I thought it was just a ploy to promote personal training sessions, but as the weeks went by, nothing of the sort was mentioned.

Every now and then the topic of Biomechanical training would arise in conversation, but I never paid it any thought until I told Brian about an old shoulder injury. He promised me that his method of training would minimise injury while giving maximum benefit to building muscle.

I decided to adopt his method and I have to say that everything he taught me made perfect sense., and I no longer suffer those irritating niggles in my joints. Also I've made very fast progress in terms of strength and muscle gains. I've been training for twenty plus years now using traditional exercises, but I've made better quicker gains in the last year.

Knowledge is power and Brian Goddard has extensive knowledge and experience in the world of fitness and bodybuilding. I am forever in gratitude to Brian."

PERFECT TIME TO JOIN THE GYM

Your first day at the gym can be exciting and a little intimidating at the same time. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your first day:

Set realistic goals: Before you start your first day at the gym, it's important to set realistic fitness goals for yourself. This will help you stay motivated and focused on achieving your objectives.

Warm-up: Take some time to warm up before you begin your workout. This could include stretching, light cardio or some other form of low-impact exercise.

Start with the basics: If you are new to working out, start with the basics and work your way up to more advanced exercises. This will help you avoid injury and ensure that you are building a solid foundation of fitness.

Use proper form: When you are performing exercises, it's important to use proper form to avoid injury and get the most out of your workout. If you are unsure about the correct form, ask a trainer or coach for information about our in house personal training sessions.

Stay hydrated: It's important to drink plenty of water during your workout to stay hydrated and maintain your energy levels. The gym stocks plenty of drinks for you to purchase in our shop

Listen to your body: If you start to feel pain or discomfort during your workout, stop and rest. Pushing yourself too hard too fast can lead to injury, so it's important to listen to your body and take breaks when needed.

Remember, the key to making progress at the gym is consistency. So, don't get discouraged if you don't see results right away. Keep showing up and putting in the work, and you'll eventually start to see the benefits of your hard work.
