Today I arrived in Barcelona. Tomorrow I embark Carnival Pride and hope to bring you some great videos and photos. Here is a snippet of my view from my hotel room where I'm staying tonight.
I booked an excursion for the port of Haugesund.
It was a 5km (2.5km each way) trek to the Ryvarden Lighthouse. It was an organised P&O trip.. I am surprised I managed it, but I did!!
There was a different view around every corner and over every hill, and each time I saw a hill, I hoped it was the end, but it kept on going and I motivated myself to keep on going.
Once at the lighthouse, we had a great 360 degree view and was treated to Waffles and coffee (they also had gluten free ones, but they had milk in so I couldn't have them).
I kept the bus waiting despite leaving a while before them (on the return trip), but luckily they voted to wait for me!!!
I would highly recommend it. It is hilly but the ground is even. It does state not for wheelchair users (when booking the trip), but I thought the ground was doable for a wheelchair (its paved all the way but the hills are a struggle so you would need a fit person to push you or an electric one, although I am not sure if P&O would allow it - this is just my opinion).

Unusually for me, I was up very early (6.45am) to see Iona cruise in to Olden. I was kindly given a forward facing balcony cabin to record from so had a 'Captains view'. Norway as always is stunning.
We made our way down the winding Fjords eventually landing near the docking area in Olden. We paused for a while and then Iona did a turn and reversed into the berth. I could see the sky lift from my cabin, which was nice.
The Sky lift is easy to do. When I went to Norway in 2019, I did the sky lift by buying a ticket in the car park, getting on a shuttle bus going up in the sky lift and then going back to the ship. I think this was around £75 but Iona had an excursion which was unguided so you just purchased the ticket and went when you were ready. Their tickets were £70. I had purchased one in the hope to get off ship, but someone who I had been in close contact with had tested positive for Covid, so I had to stay behind and have a test. Mine came back negative but it was lunchtime so I didn't go (I did get a refund though). So because of this, this was the only video I have managed to make from Olden.
I will return later this year and hope to get some great 360 videos.
