A knock on the door this morning from a chap walking through the woods next to the lodge, when they discovered a baby owl shivering on the ground. Clearly falling out of its nest and no way of getting back in.😢

Good news this little fella is now on his way to a local sanctuary , food is ready waiting for him, he’s on a heated blanket to keep him warm. He will be well looked after.

This was once a dream and now a reality.....

In January 2020 after 18 months of hard graft, long days, endless paperwork, ups and downs, blood sweat and tears (some happy some not so..) we finally achieved our goal of building our own holiday lodge...

We love our home and location in Sherwood Pines (Sherwood Forest) so much that we wanted to share it with like minded people.... People who love nature, people who love the outdoors and want to embrace everything about it! People who like to just relax and listen to the birds, people who want to get on their MTB’s and just have a cracking day on trails, then come back to a roaring log fire and a dip in the hot tub whilst looking at the stars. People who want to walk for miles with their dogs and then snuggle up on the sofa with them - you get the gist!

We’d thought about doing this for years, but in November of 2017 my husband Paul had a serious work accident and was in hospital for 6 weeks and then spent 12 months recovering at home... that’s when we decided to put our dreams into action. No more should we shouldn’t we... now was the time, because honestly, you never know what the future holds!

So here we are, now open for business and quite honestly .... We’re loving it! Loving hearing about how much of a wonderful relaxed time our guests have had, what they’ve seen and where they’ve been.... We love meeting all these new people from all over the country and sharing our home with them so they can feel what we do every day... We’ve been here 6 years and still feel like we’re on holiday!
