Public announcement: Island Closed Friday 25th of October 🌊
The poor sea conditions forecast for Friday 25th of October mean that we will be unable to open the castle or run our boating operation. Sadly, this means we cannot open St Michael’s Mount tomorrow.
You are welcome to visit the island using your ticket from Sunday to Friday next week – please note the island is closed on Saturday. You do not need to rebook but can turn up and use your existing tickets.
We are sorry if this means you cannot visit. Any tickets that are not used will be refunded in full automatically at the beginning of w/c 4 November, you do not need to contact us. We expect monies to be returned to the accounts from which payments were made within 5-7 business days.
We are a tidal island that is governed by the forces of nature and sometimes those elements work against us.
We hope to be able to welcome you onto St Michael’s Mount soon.
Public Announcement for 24 October:
Due to high winds forecast for Thursday, 24 October, St Michael’s Mount will be closed and our boating services will not operate.
If you have tickets for Thursday, you can use them on Wednesday (23/10/24) without needing to rebook—just arrive with your current tickets.
Please note for Wednesday: The island will be open as usual. However, due to stormy seas, the ferry boats will stop running at 13:15, and the causeway will uncover around 14:30, allowing walking access for the rest of the day.
The castle, village, café, shops and visitor centre will be open, with first admissions at 10:00 and last admissions at 15:45.
The island will close at 17:00.
Looking ahead to Friday (25 Oct), the forecast suggests poor conditions and the island may also be closed that day.
We’re sorry if this affects your visit. Any unused tickets will be automatically refunded early next week, with funds returned within 5-7 business days.
As a tidal island, we are sometimes at the mercy of nature, but we look forward to welcoming you to St Michael’s Mount soon!
Public announcement: Monday 21st of October.
The high winds yesterday have left too much swell in the sea for the ferry boats to use the landings safely this morning. Therefore, there will not be any boating today. Here’s what you need to know:
• Island opens: 12:45
• Last castle admissions: 15:00
• Full island closure: 16:15
🎟️ Ticket Holders: If your visit is affected, no need to rebook! You can use your existing ticket on any other open day until the end of next week. Just turn up with your current ticket.
For unused tickets, full refunds will be processed automatically at the end of next week, and funds will be returned within 5-7 business days.
🌊 As a tidal island, nature sometimes has its own plans. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
