The prices for 2025 have been finalised and we’ve kept them at the lower rates we shared for the second half of last year.

This is because we want as many people as possible to be able to experience the beauty of West Cornwall!

York House is a great base for exploring all that the area has to offer, sleeping 6 people in comfort in 3 bedrooms, two doubles (one with en-suite) and a twin. It has a fabulous outside space which is a proper sun trap (and the sun always shines in Cornwall, right?!)

A short walk from several pubs and restaurants in historic Marazion, and only 3 miles from Penzance.

All these rates are for a week, where there’s more than one amount, the higher rate reflects the peak periods in that particular month.

Friday changeover preferred but we are open to other options assuming they can be accommodated. Short break rates available on request.

York House is in Marazion, just three miles from Penzance railway station, so we’re letting the train take the strain for this trip.

4h 45m to Reading, a little longer than we normally take to drive it but the train means we can sit back, work, read, and dive into the tasty lunch we brought with us from some of our favourite local businesses.

Snacks from Archie Browns, sandwiches from The Cornish Hen and awesome cakes from Loafs, all based at the top end of Penzance.

And the view, look at it!

Not the weather for sitting outside this evening but how cosy does our outside space look with the new lights?

A few reminders why an out-of-season break in West Cornwall is a good idea.

Obviously we can’t guarantee the weather but the empty beaches and autumn skies are worth it, rain or shine.

A sunset and a lovely review. Happy Friday everyone!

Happy Friday everyone!

Days like these seem a long way off at the moment but something to think about for next summer maybe?!

Sunday so far.

Early morning dip followed by breakfast and the paper, now attempting to prune the budleia while avoiding the massive bees!

Good to see so many creatures in the back yard though 🐝🦋🪱🐜

Saturdays are quieter in Marazion as St Michael’s Mount is closed to the public, so we took advantage of this with a lovely walk this morning.

Across the road from the house up to Back Lane, up to the Beacon and over the fields to Virgin Hill, before heading down Green Lane and onto an almost empty beach.

Perfect!

Just back from Marazion Museum where we had a very interesting conversation with Carol, one of the lovely volunteers that run it, about York House’s history. Also bought a copy of ‘The Charter Town Of Marazion’ by the Marazion History Group, which includes this illustration of the house by Ann Atkinson.

Very excited to have a meeting booked with one of the volunteers from Marazion Museum this Friday. Following a conversation a couple of weeks ago about an 1840 map, she’s done some research on the house. Watch this space!

Brunch in the garden after a walk this morning.

We’ve had a couple of bookings but still plenty of space for the remainder of July, August and beyond!

So satisfying to see the results of an hour tidying the garden. The sunshine helped too!
