We Just wanted to wish our beautiful Doreen a Wonderful Birthday! We hope it has been as Amazing as you are!!
Doreen is our longest standing member of staff and she started working at New Horizons Broad Oak Ltd 21 years ago in August 2003!!
Wowzers where did that time go!!
Doreen is such a fantastic support worker!! She works so hard to make sure that everyone around her has a wonderful day!!
Last year she won the highly commended award at the British Care Awards for her contribution to Health and Social care! An award that she thoroughly deserved!!
Doreen does so much for others, she is such a kind and caring support worker!!! We are so very lucky to have had her as part of our team for so many years!
Thankyou Doreen for everything you have done for us, the people you have worked with with, their families and friends! You are an amazing lady!! Happy Birthday lovely lady!!! 😍🥰

Just wanted to wish our resident dad joker Stephen King a very Happy Birthday!
We hope you're Birthday is legendary Just like you!!
Stephen joined our Amazing team 9 years ago in July 2015, having no previous experience in care but just wanting to make a difference to people's lives! Wow what a difference he has made! Stephen has worked with some of our people who need more care and patience. He has provided continuity and understanding and is a great asset to our team! He has also completed his certificate in Social Care along the way! Thankyou Stephen for all of the love and laughter you have provided to us all! So very proud to have you as part of our team ! 😍🥰😘

Recently a team of New Horizons Broad Oak Ltd staff and some of their families got together one evening to do some work on our allotment to make it more manageable so that our people can start using it more. They cut down bushes, mowed the lawn, emptied the pond and just gave everything a thorough cut back. I'm sure you'll agree it looks much better!
Afterwards everyone was treated to a fish n chip supper to say Thankyou! What an amazing team we have! You guys are Amazing! Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!

So yesterday was an incredibly emotional day as we said goodbye to Darren and Craig who are sadly moving on 🥺

We have been working with Darren and Craig for 13 years!! It truly is the end of an era and the Resource Centre will be so quiet without them! 😢

Throughout their years, Darren and Craig have taken part in many many days out discos, tea time Clubs, respite, drama shows, and the highlight of their year, taking part in Ramsgate / Margate Carnivals. We've had so much fun and laughter 🥰 we are so proud of how far each of them have come and the lovely young men they have turned out to be 😍

Darren is a bubbly, loving young man with the most beautiful smile, he is a very popular member of Resource and loved and looked up to by all of his peers. He LOVES to meet new people and never forgets a face or name. He has the most infectious laugh which he does often and he loves to be out and about, on a swing or bouncing around to music 🎶

Craig is the nicest, kindest young man who befriended all of our guys over the years, no matter their ability. He always helps out those who are less able than himself and will look out for them. He can also be very cheeky and will shake staff members and laugh, he also loves to make loud noises by rearranging the saucepan cupboard!

We wish them all the best and hope they are happy in their new home, although we will miss them both very much 😢 Resource will just not be the same with out them

A huge shout out to Chriss Lewis and Brian who have been amazing and have been such a pleasure to work alongside. The boys are a credit to you and its all because of your love, influence, hard work and commitment to them both! You've been involved in their life for around the last 27 years! And worked tirelessly fighting their corner and ensuring they always had the very best, as they deserved. You are an inspiration to us all! We know how very difficult this decision must have been but just want you to know that we're still here for you and would love to keep in touch and for you to pop in to see us at Resource.

Equally, we're really hoping to keep in touch with Darren and Craig via letters, cards and hopefully some visits when their down this way. ❤️

Last weekend we supported some of our people to go to Festability 2024 an inclusive music festival for people with learning disabilities. Everyone involved said they had a lovely time and are looking forwards to next year's event! 😍🥰

We Just wanted to Congratulate Jade Roberts on completing the final part of her Adult Apprenticeship with New Horizons Broad Oak Ltd. Jade unfortunately only worked with us for a short while and it was clear from the start that she was destined for bigger and better things!
When she joined us Jade had already completed a big part of the Apprentiship with another provider, but unfortunately hadn't been able to finish it....and had all but given up on it!
It was clear that she didn't realise that she was very near the end of the qualification.....and how important it could be for her future to finish it! With a bit time, support and motivation we were able to help Jade to complete....and Just look....she got a very well deserved distinction!!
Well done Jade!... We are so proud of you!! 😍🥰

Just wanted to say a huge Thankyou to the staff team at Thanet Disabled Riding Centre who always make our people very welcome and enable our people to interact with the horses! Last week our people really enjoyed walking the horses around the grounds! How wonderful! Thankyou so much! 😍😍

Our quiet space which was temporarily our Sensory room has been reguarly used by our people. Sean Green has made a couple of tweaks so that we have another quiet area for some of our people who like a quieter area. Thanks Sean we appreciate everything that you do! 😍😍🥰🥰

We have been supporting this lovely lady since July 2012 as part of our Resource group, we have lots of fabulous memories of you joining in with carnivals over the years, Festability, drama productions, discos, cycling, cooking and I know you have made some lovely friendships along the way! Emma especially, and Craig and Darren. What a very special lady you are! We love it when you are doing all of the things you love with your friends and know that you are at your happiest when you are singing along to Abba! Just wanted to wish Mark Ayles a very Happy Birthday!
Mark joined us on 4th July 2023 Independence Day!
Mark has fitted right in like a hand to a glove!
He has helped alongside the team he works in to give one of our guys as much independence as is possible! He is a great match for the team because he love doing all of the activities that our guy does....and so this works so well! He also provides cover for one of our ladies as part of her team with another staff member and just gets on with the job in hand with a smile, enthusiasm, kindness, care and understanding! Wishing our lovely Lou Jennifer a very Happy Birthday! We hope you've had the very best day!!

Lou Started with us in November 2021 after volunteering with us for the carnival with her mum who works with us.

Lou is one of our youngest support staff and she has really grown in confidence over the past few years, she completed her Certificate in Health and Social care with New Horizons Broad Oak Ltd and this has really helped her to develop and to understand our ethos.

Lou has really taken her time to get to know the people she works with so that she can support them well and give them choices that she knows they like.
Lou is kind, funny, reliable and an exceptional young support worker. She is a great colleague and team worker!

Thankyou Lou for all of your hard work with our people. We hope you stay for many more years to come! We are so very proud to have you as part of our amazing team 😍😍

This is Caz Flint who started work with New Horizons Broad Oak Ltd 7 years ago today in 2017!
Caz has worked with many different people over her time and always puts her all into everything she does! But she is at her Happiest when she is out and about in the community supporting our people to do new skills and activities!
Life is never dull with Caz, she loves a new challenge and she can always be relied upon to make things fun! She is great at providing continuity for our people and always looks out for newer staff leading by example and giving good advice. Caz always puts our people at the forefront of everything she does and is always fully inclusive! She always gets our people to do as much as possible for themselves and is a great advocate for promoting independence.
Thank you Caz for all that you do! We really appreciate you and are so very lucky to have you as part of our team! 😍😍
