The nursery provides a high quality service for young children between 2 years and five years of age. It is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm for 38 weeks of every year. There are two outdoor play areas - a courtyard and a large garden area to provide a range of fun and activities for the children. Children benefit from a ra

nge of activities such as story time, challenge, IT, construction play, creative play, water and sand play, obstacle courses and role play areas. Windmill Community Gardens Project
The Windmill Community Allotment Project (WCAP) is situated just 400m from the main centre, and offers training, work placement opportunities and a wide range of activities for parents and children from the community. With its partners in the NHS, the local council and other children's centres, WCAP works closely with many organisations to support the community and produce environmental products. One of these - 'Millmead Honey' - is the result of a bee-keeping project involving local young people. WCAP works to involve local people more closely with nature and its surroundings, and to enable them to experience the health benefits of working with nature.

Another little insight into what we achieve at the Millmead Children's Centre (Family Hub)

We have weekly groups, a sensory room, Midwifery, Health Visitor clinics, Infant Feeding Clinic, Breastfeeding Support, Speech and Language, A growing Nursery, Kent Community Pantry, Adult Education Courses, Regular big events (such as Trade Fairs, Discos and Parties, Christmas, Easter and Halloween events etc), Comfort room (safe space) and the Playground project to name just a few. We have collaborations with DWP, Powell Cotton Museum, Citizens Advice, Disability Assist, Ramsgate Job Centre, One You and East Kent College, as well as a wide range of help, support and advice available as and when our families require.
